This jacket has all the technical features he needs, top Arc'teryx quality, looks great and with the bright orange color he'll be easy to spot on the slopes. I have a similar women's Arc'teryx jacket and it's held up extremely well for years, even surviving a skier vs. tree incident with zero damage. Especially considering the low STP price, you really can't go wrong with this jacket.
