3.0 out of 5 stars. good fit/not designed as picturedVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from minnesota on Wednesday, April 27, 2016Other reviewers note how long the sleeves are -- I like this look. The fit is tight but the wool comfortable. The quality is okay, Smartwool has gone downhill -- not first-rate (the wool already appears to be pilling after 3-4 wearings). But the kicker for me is something not pictured in the photos or described by other reviewers that I saw -- that it's not a real turtleneck. The neck is split at the back so it can fold flat like a wide, backwards collar or cowl. Kind of cool but not at all like what was pictured. Keeping but disappointed that the photo was misleading.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Smartwool Hayden Spires TurtleneckVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Washington on Wednesday, February 17, 2016I love this sweater. Fits well and is wonderful non-itchy merino wool. Light enough to wear under fleece or down; the turtle neck can be worn unfolded and scrunched or folded smoothly. Stretchy enough to layer a tee-shirt underneath. Would definitely recommend this sweater to others.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Strong construction and comfortableVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from New York on Thursday, January 21, 2016This top fits true to size and looks great by itself or under a coat. It's very warm and comfortable. I've washed it many times already and can say it's of very strong material and construction. I really like this one and wish it would be made of other colors.

5.0 out of 5 stars. GREAT sweaterVerified Buyer Reviewed by ValinBoise from Boise on Monday, January 18, 2016This is comfortable and fits your body nicely without being tight. The turtle neck relaxes so it's not tight around your neck and the sweater has both a relaxed and more dressy feel at the same time. I love this sweater.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Sweet!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Chicago on Friday, January 15, 2016Just what I was looking for and expected, given the description. I dislike tight turtle neck necks and love longer sleeves I'm 5'6, 135lbs, 38 bust. Neck is roomy enough, and the "spire" detail is uniquely fashionable. Got the medium, which is perfect! Can dress it up or down, but I love the casual slouchy/long aspect of the neck and sleeves. This is not a heavyweight sweater, closer to light/mid-weight. Fun and practical, all seasons.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Stunning Turtleneck SweaterVerified Buyer Reviewed by ShoeNiqua from ATL on Monday, January 11, 2016I love this super softt (not itchy at all) turtleneck Sweater. I have 4 of them! They keep me so warm and they look very tailored and elegant. I am 5,10 and 150 lbs. I actually buy 2 sizes in them...Medium when I want it sleek to wear w/a skirt and be dressy and then Large to be loose & casual w/jeans.
I write this after hearing news of David Bowie's death. It's ironic that I received this review request at the same time bec I always felt the "rings" on this sweater or "spires" as Smartwool calls them, has a space age feel and something David Bowie might've liked during his "Major Tom" days. RIP David Bowie! -
