5.0 out of 5 stars. Beautiful roasterReviewed by MrsD from Texas on Saturday, January 16, 2016I purchased this just in time to use during the holidays, and could not be more pleased. It is heavy duty, cleans up nicely, and will last a very long time. For me, the best part is the sturdy handles - makes moving a large turkey/heavy dish much easier.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Beautiful, high quality construction, easy to clean.Reviewed by hike bike cook from PNW on Sunday, December 20, 2015I've roasted several things in this pan including a thanksgiving turkey, meaty bones for stock, veg etc. The other review about being realistic about your needs is spot on. I have several Mauviel pieces from STP, and a single induction hob. All of these pieces are by far the best cookware on my induction "burner". They even make a better noise than lesser quality pots and pans I own on induction. They all clean up easily (though I'm still undecided over his matte interior versus the more polished stainless interior of my other Mauviel.) Though the edges are 1.5 mm, the steel also tapers towards the edge. So, I think the pan itself is a heavier gauge than 1.5 mm. It certainly is sturdy enough for pretty much anything I could imagine it being used for. Things are not prone to burning in this pan.
This is the roasting pan to buy if you don't expect to buy another one ever. The handles are thick enough to comfortably lift a heavy pan and have plenty of clearance in all directions. Very pleased with it. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Overkill for many, but a nice pan nonethelessReviewed by ploeg from Central IA on Tuesday, November 17, 2015First, a sanity check: the basic requirements for a roasting pan are that it exposes whatever you're roasting to the dry air of your oven, catches the drippings, accommodates oven temperatures, and resists buckling when you move the roasted item in and out of the oven. Large handles are also nice. If roasting performance alone is considered, a $20 pan that meets those requirements would be the equal to this pan.
The main reasons why you would get this pan are:
1. The pan is induction ready, which is rare among roasting pans, even those made out of stainless steel. (Not all stainless steels are magnetic, and only magnetic stainless steels support induction cooking.)
2. The pan is extremely sturdy (6 lbs 13 oz heavy and 1.5mm thick on all sides, with large, well designed handles made from cast stainless steel). There are those who have seen a version of this pan that's 2.6mm thick. Sounds like a nice pan, but this pan is plenty heavy as it is.
3. The pan is aesthetically pleasing, with an easy-to-clean matte finish inside, a polished finish around the sides, and a brushed finish on the bottom that hides scratches well.
4. Maybe you would use a roasting pan more often if you had a nice one like this (for large servings of lasagna or baked pasta, for example)?
With this pan, you can set up an induction plate away from the stove in the kitchen, bring the pan over when the meat is resting, and make gravy in the pan while other people are using the stove for other things. You will need to move the pan around on the induction plate for even heating. The aluminum core of the pan spreads the heat around a little, but the pan is big enough that you will need to help spread the heat.
If you want to sear large cuts of meat, consider using a cast iron griddle instead of this pan. This pan is big, but it's not big enough to straddle two entire burners on most stoves. Also, the core of this pan is aluminum, which is good for speading heat but not so good for storing heat. I'm not sure that I would trust even the mythical 2.6mm thick version of this pan to do as good of a job with searing meat as a cast iron griddle would.

5.0 out of 5 stars. A terrific roasting panReviewed by Goos from Northern California on Friday, June 19, 2015This roasting pan is not only beautiful, but very functional. Unlike many roasting pans from All-Clad and others, this one has a completely flat bottom, which means it can be used to sear meets and be deglazed easily. I find it handy not only for rasting meats, but for roasting vegetables as well. The matte interior finish cleans up easier than a shiny interior, and the light color prevents the contents from being burned.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Beautiful Heavy Duty PanVerified Buyer Reviewed by Julie upstate from Albany Area on Tuesday, January 13, 2015Gave it only 4 stars because I haven't used it yet. But it is sturdy, well made. My ceramic roaster split mid-roast on X-mas. This should do the job for years to come.
