5.0 out of 5 stars. Warm, quality coat
Reviewed by N W from Connecticut on Tuesday, February 3, 2015
My coat was delivered literally minutes before a big snow storm started up here in New England. A few hours later, I was out shoveling almost a foot of snow in about 15 degree weather. The coat was perfect for it: warm with just a light flannel under it, comfortable, not too bulky, and easy to move in. You can tell as soon as you pick it up that it's high quality, and it looks about as fashionable as a coat like this can look, too. It does run somewhat slim. I'm normally on the big end of a medium, so I tried both the medium and large, and the large is a perfect fit. I'd size up if you're between sizes.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Very warm and waterproof

I picked this up for a steal and love it. I've been in the market for a down jacket for some time. A lot of brands have higher down counts but they all lack that waterproofing element. Some have treated down but this isn't going to hold up long term. Instead, it was better to have something with a waterproof she'll. I've got a few other items with G-1000 and know how well it works. It's also wind proof. I've had this out in single digits and felt great. And that was with nothing but a long sleeve Henley; no serious layering.

This jacket is extremely warm and doesn't require you to layer up under it. I ordered the large and it is pretty snug. The European styles tend to be slenderizing.

About Fjallraven

The Fjallraven story started more than 60 years ago when a 14-year old named Ake Nordin began trekking in the mountains of his native northern Sweden. Eventually, Ake started to notice the backpacks of the time didn't bear loads well, and decided to build his own. Within a decade, Ake was creating backpacks under the name Fjallraven, which translates to Arctic Fox in Swedish. Today, Fjallraven backpacks, jackets, fleece and outdoor apparel are helping people discover and enjoy the great outdoors all over the world.
