Most Helpful 5-Star Review

5.0 out of 5 stars. Really nice stainless pans for the price-highly recommended

Well-made pans that can go in the dishwasher (although they suggest care for them--apparently Europeans add salt to their dishwashers?).

Good sizes; nice lids, like the lip at the edge of the pan that improves pouring.

Handles require hot-pads, but work better than long handles on my small gas range.

2 of the lids can do double-duty on the pans that come lidless.

I like stainless pans much better than pans with an interior coating because you can clean them with scouring pads--the company recommends the basic Scotch-Brite pads I like to use.

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. look nice, but...

I really like this product, and I have purchased others from this manufacturer before. However, the lids are not well made at all -- their parts don't seal correctly, so every time I wash them, water gets between the glass and metal parts. The only way to dry the area out is to unscrew the bolts that attaches the parts (requires tools).
The cookware set was such a good deal that I'll throw away the lids and keep the pots.

Very nice quality cookware. Heavy weight, solid construction of pots and lids.

If you really like to cook, you know that good pots and pans are worth it, because cheap ones fall apart, don't conduct heat well, or burn your hands. In thirty years of cooking, I have used stuff somewhat better than this set, but only at much, much higher prices. So here is what I have noticed after a couple of weeks of steady use. The handles get slightly warm. No burns. The pot and lid handles have enough dead air space to make them touchable without mitts. although you are better off with potholders at times. The bottoms conduct heat, which really matters for the results you get when cooking. I have no idea what is in the layers between the steel on the bottom. It did not say - but I would guess the concept is like tri-clad. They call it "transtherm" but even if we don't know the full contents (copper? aluminum? no clue!), it does work well. My set arrived looking gorgeous, except for a tiny ding in the outer wall of the largest pot. But they work and work well. So if you are shopping for a starter kitchen, have no fear. I think you would end up keeping them for decades. And trust me, flimsy cookware will just burn your food and your hands.

The cookware set was as advertised. Provides even heat and is functional with the various lids.
