5.0 out of 5 stars. Good shoesVerified Buyer Reviewed by Getting old aint for sissies from Montana on Monday, April 27, 2015I needed some new work shoes as the Garmonts I'd purchased from STP were finally wearing out. I shopped quite a bit here and there and I found these Jack Wolfskins on sale here. I wanted a stiff sole and no mesh tops. The sizing was just right. I really liked the Ghili lacing too. Unfortunately I face shoulder surgery and loss of work for quite a while and I hope the relative ease of the lacing system will work for me for three months or longer. Really like these shoes and almost don't want to wear them to preserve them for as long as possible. I should buy a second pair just because.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Love my Jack Wolfskin Hiking ShoesVerified Buyer Reviewed by Walker Marc from Florida on Monday, April 13, 2015I've always wanted to try a Jack Wolfskin product but the prices are quite high. These shoes seemed like a bargain and I really do enjoy them. They provide great support and a true fit.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Solid shoesVerified Buyer Reviewed by Wyo woman from Wyoming on Friday, April 10, 2015These shoes do have a bit of a break in period, but keep getting more comfortable every day. They feel like quality materials and should hold up well. Havent tested waterproof yet but rest of shoe seems up to my standards. Looking forward to using them trail running on the mountain when the snow melts. that will be the real test and I may have to revise my # of stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Nice shoes but a bit smallReviewed by Roger D from Wisconsin on Wednesday, March 11, 2015I liked thes shoes well enough that I bought a second pair in another color. I haven't yet tested whether they are truly waterproof, but they seem very well built for the price. I did have a sizing problem. I wear a US 10.5 M, and these shoes were slightly small for me particularly across the toes. I replaced them with a US 11, which is more comparable to a 10.5 in brands such as Haglofs. From the sizing chart on the box, it appears that Jack Wolfskin leans toward the small size when converting UK sizes to US sizes.

4.0 out of 5 stars. comfortable and waterproofVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Illinois on Saturday, March 7, 2015As advertised, these shoes are waterproof. After an initial stiffness in the sidewalls, they are very comfortable. They seem more durable than the Merrills they replaced, but it will take me a year to verify that. They have a subtle appearance which is important since I west them for all sorts of occasions.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Decent bootsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Woodsbum from Tennessee on Saturday, February 28, 2015I wear Asolo boots all year long and purchased these on a whim. An 8.5 US fits me perfectly in the Asolo but these shoes are a tad loose in the heel area. The width is fine and I have overcome the slippage by wearing thicker wool socks and cinching the laces a bit tighter at the top. these will not provide the long term comfort that my Asolo boots do.
The construction is good and the slightly aggressive outsole is nice and stiff for good traction off the path. These aren't just running shoes in natural colors. If you need a hiking shoe instead of a boot and these fit your feet, they are a great choice. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. The shoe looks very well made but the color was wrongReviewed by Anonymous from Greensboro, NC on Thursday, February 26, 2015The photo of the shoe is incorrect. The brownish-tan photo was not the "burnt olive" color.
I ordered the "burnt olive" shoe and what I received was definitely more green than the picture on the web site; not even close..
