4.0 out of 5 stars. Nice polesVerified Buyer Reviewed by Northwoods Year 'Rounder from Northern Wisconsin on Friday, October 16, 2015These poles are nice, though it took me awhile to figure out the power-locking mechanism. It isn't exactly obvious, though this is no fault of the mechanism, I just was not familiar with the operation, and no instructions are included. Therefore, I found instructions at another place on the Web and the mechanism works fine. Also, these poles are a little heavy as "ultralight" poles. I think someone mentioned this during another review of Komperdell poles. The other issue I have with them is that they say they extend to 130 cm or 140 cm I believe (I don't have the description in front of me, so please check.) While you can do this, I'm not sure that the pole would be very sturdy if extended this far. As it is, 120 cm is fine for me (I'm 5'8"), and the poles will be sturdy. However, I was hoping to be able to lend one of them to my hiking buddy if need be on less rigorous hikes. Since he is 6'2" and heavier, he might have to make due with shorter, sturdier poles.

5.0 out of 5 stars. outstanding trekking polesVerified Buyer Reviewed by Elizabeth trail walker from North Carolina in the Smokies on Thursday, June 11, 2015I purchased these poles for added stability when hiking my backwoods trail. I am 73; a tall, slim and therefore thin-boned female and walk almost daily on uneven terrain, uphill steeply and downhill almost as steeply. These poles are great for balance, stopping skids on scree and braking down-grade. The locking mechanism is incredible and I totally recommend this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great ProductVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from New York on Wednesday, May 6, 2015I recently used these poles on a 10 mile day hike and was very impressed. The are light but still feel sturdy. The terrain was a mixture of both solid rocks and packed dirt. No issues at all. They are light and pack pretty small. I have an Osprey Manta 28 and they fit nicely in the trekking pole attachment slots.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Good functionally, but uglyVerified Buyer Reviewed by 2pdl from Vermont on Friday, January 16, 2015These poles are precisely what you would expect carbon sticks from Komperdell to be: light, sturdy, easy to adjust. In short, highly functional. But, alas, they are ugly. While that generally isn't a problem if you are hiking in the woods, their normal habitat. But these are city poles for us to support a weak back. As a result, the scads of autographs that adorn the second section look more like graffiti than endorsements. I tried removing them -- hoping a decal would peel off -- but no luck.
