3.0 out of 5 stars. Runs smallReviewed by Dee from Madison, WI on Tuesday, March 8, 2016I read the previous reviews and ordered a 1/2 size down and they were still too big. They felt wide all over so they went back.

4.0 out of 5 stars. comfortable and no problemsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Georgia on Tuesday, October 27, 2015I got this boot at a discount, so hoped it wouldn't cause blisters for our Grand Canyon hiking venture. I didn't break them in at all, so really expected problems. The bottom (insole/midsole) isn't terribly cushiony, but I live in cross-trainers, so my expectations are for pure comfort. I don't wear fashion shoes at all no matter how 'comfortable' reviewers say they are. I felt that the high ankles felt tight, so it sort of kept my feet off the sole of the shoe. I had no problem with movement or 'give', and after 2 days of 10 mile hikes, I got a blister on the center padding of one foot, which I don't know if attributable to the boot or not. If I were a real hiker, I think I'd go for a higher quality brand, but for the occasional hiker, this is very good.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Comfortable & sturdyVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Ohio on Friday, September 18, 2015I've worn these on a few day hikes so far with my daughter - they fit very comfortably. I read how many comments said they were a little too roomy - but for me I have short but extremely wide feet especially at the toe, and it's always hard to find something that fits nicely. I sized up a half size to account for thicker socks, and they fit perfectly with those socks. They are sturdy and I have used them on very muddy areas and not experienced any water seeping through. The only reason I don't rate them a full five stars is because the ankle area could be a little more padded/plush, but they aren't. I'm not sure how that will feel on longer hikes. For the price? an excellent shoe.

3.0 out of 5 stars. OK, but not GreatVerified Buyer Reviewed by Mainah from Maine on Wednesday, September 16, 2015The look of this boot was nice and it seemed to be of good quality. A little blocky , but they are suppposed to be hiking boots, right? The ad description said they ran small, so I ordered a 1/2 size smaller than I usually wear and they fit well enough size wise. The problem I had with these boots and the reason I sent them back was the overstuffed tongue and the complicated lacing system. They just didnt' want to tighten up to fit my foot. Lacing your boots up should be a relatively simple task. They were also very wide through the toe and didn't have much of an arch in the sole. Not sure how they would perform on a hike, but they would probably be OK on an even grade trail. Gave them three stars because the quality was good and they were an appealing women's boot without being too "girly".

5.0 out of 5 stars. Almost instant 'break-in'!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Bay area hiker from SF Bay Area, CA on Saturday, August 22, 2015I wore these once on a 4 mile 'shakedown' hike, and they felt like I'd been wearing them for months. Never a tight spot or chafed area. Truly waterproof, I work in water and mud, and these held up fine. Look good, but better yet, work perfectly.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Lots to recomend . . .Verified Buyer Reviewed by Gifting Mom from Washington on Thursday, July 30, 2015I ordered these after returning another pair of boots, and these are keepers. I find they run about 1/2 a size too large, but are still comfortable. The reason I am not giving them five stars is that they could definitely stand some more cushion in the insole as well as a better arch support. However, one can add those after purchase. I also find the sole is not to flexible, but that may change with wear.
I did read on the reviews here, where someone complained about them being designed for a high instep--which I have. And while there is plenty of room to accommodate the top of my foot, the lack of sufficient arch support is probably not what most of us with high insteps are looking for.
The good: They are comfy, seem well made, sturdy, and they are attractive. The laces lock at each loop, so one can adjust the fit throughout the body of the shoe, as long as the sole, heel, and toe box work for you. I have problem feet and yet I walk a lot, so this ability to adjust the fit, looser for the toe knuckles on one foot, tighter on the other, allowing for plenty of room for the my high arches, and compensating for my relatively slim upper ankles.
I do prefer Columbias . . . but they didn't have any in my size and price range, and these will definitely do. In fact, the Columbia's I bought two years ago are still serviceable, so I will alternate with these. Alternating between brands of shoes is actually better for your feet . . . . -

2.0 out of 5 stars. Big & ClunkyVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from New York on Friday, July 24, 2015While the boots are light enough the design leaves one with a desire for something more sleek and streamlined. They were so big and clunky, I felt like I was wearing a pair of radial tires on my feet.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Great value!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Marcia from WA on Monday, June 29, 2015This looks like a great, durable hiking boot. Unfortunately, it does not fit & will need to be returned. I ordered one size up to fit with thicker socks, but it is way too wide and loose. Order regular shoe size I would say. the boot certainly looks good tho & it's a great value so I hope I can get another pair that fits correctly.
