It has button closures that double up the down as a winter weight or other seasonal use. So if you are cold . Keep both layers on but if you choose to take one off it is as easy as unbuttoning one layer. Its so light , yet so warm. This is so well made. So far no feathers coming through the fabric. So , warm n cozy. Just one of the best down comforters I have ever purchased.
