The back has gathers at the waist giving it some shape, and both the cuffs and the front are a complementary knit. The sweater has good heft, but is quite airy and not as warm as I would have expected. It sure is pretty though and I like it a lot.

It is a medium weight and came with several creases in it, so I washed it and laid it flat to dry. It came out very rumpled looking, and I ended up ironing it. The bottom half of the sweater is flared which I guess would be good for someone who is "hippy", but I am a string bean and it looked sloppy on me. Alterations with the sewing machine were called for, and it looks much better now. The bottom of the front curves up a bit, and the back has a band knitted in at the waist which is a nice touch. Alas, as this sweater wrinkles very easily and I am not a fan of ironing, I probably will not wear it as much as I hoped to.
