5.0 out of 5 stars. Nice practical shirt

I plan on wearing this shirt alone and also open over a tank. Love the zip pocket on the side seam and the sleeves roll up to elbow length. No wrinkles when drip dried so great for travel.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Perfect for me, but maybe not for you

This shirt has a very specific fit. It's narrow across the bust and around arms, and generous around the hips. If you're a small busted pear shape, this is a great shirt. It fits me perfectly, but I would not recommend for others who are differently proportioned. I will say, I have normal-sized arms, and I find the forearms quite tight; there is no extra room to have a tailor move the buttons, which is why I give this four stars rather than five. This is only an issue at the cuff, the rest of the arm has a normal fit. Because it fit me so well otherwise, I bought a set of button extenders, and now it's quite comfortable.

As to look, it's a flattering cut (assuming it fits). It follows a princess line and the stripes are subtle but give both a flattering shape and a slightly boho flavor.

As far as wear, the shirt is nice and breathable. I bought it for a trip to the Middle East and it looks like it will do the trick.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. for small busted woman

This shirt is well made and the fabric is really nice. The problem is the fit. Very small in the bust but full at the bottom. I have other RR shirts and the fit is not the same. Better for a pear shape.

  • 2.0 out of 5 stars. Awkward fit

This top looked cute in the pictures but had a strange fit. I'm consistently a size medium in Royal Robbins--5'8", 128#, 34C, small boned build, and most mediums in this brand fit perfectly with a little room to spare. However, this top ran a little short, the bust was tight enough that the buttons were strained and fabric gapped at the chest, and strangely enough, the cuffs on the sleeves were tight even on my thin arms. I really wanted to like it...but not a keeper.

This shirt was great in a lot of ways. The shirt was slightly fitted, the neckline was flattering, the material great, and the sleeves weren't too tight as I've noticed on other shirts. But on my 5'4" frame, the shirt was a little longer than I would have wanted. Also the buttons were positioned so that it created a gap around the chest.

About Royal Robbins

By the late-1960s, veteran Yosemite rock climber Royal Robbins and his wife Liz had grown tired of wearing cutoff jeans on the crag. At the time, apparel designed specifically for outdoor adventure was virtually non-existent. After years of wishing for something better, the couple finally decided to create their own, starting with a pair of climbing shorts called the “Billy Goat.” This was the beginning of Royal Robbins’ clothing revolution. Today, nearly 50 years later, Royal Robbins outdoor clothing is as rugged and reliable as ever. When you buy a Royal Robbins sweater or shirt, or a Royal Robbins pair of pants or shorts, you can bet it will fit great, whether you’re climbing in the Sierra Nevadas, camping in the backcountry or relaxing in your own backyard.
