5.0 out of 5 stars. Best sleeping bag I ever hadReviewed by B.Smith from Colorado on Wednesday, August 10, 2016I don't have to carry this anywhere.. which is good, cause it's pretty bulky and heavy. But man, oh man, is it warm, and roomy, and sturdy. This is the best bag I've ever had, and I plan to make it the last one I ever have. We bought two, zipped them together on one trip and left them separate on another.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Alps Silverthorne Sleeping BagVerified Buyer Reviewed by Conch from Ozarks on Tuesday, August 2, 2016It's August in the Ozarks so I haven't actually tried the sleeping bags yet. Soon we will be in Yellowstone camping, which should be the true test. At this point the quality vs price seems well worth the purchase. The Cedar Ridge Silverthorne is generous in size and fill. Two bags zipped together more than covers our queen size camper mattress. At this point I am confident I made a good purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Perfect for car camping and RV useVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from North Carolina on Monday, August 1, 2016I bought two of these bags to outfit our new camper. My initial impression is these are well made and will provide good 3-4 season use. The full length zippers work well and makes the bags mateable, and the fill is adequate for our use. The outer shell looks like it will stand up to our use for many years and the cotton flannel liner seems heavy enough to last. I have been looking for this type of bag for a long time and this style bag with the same rating and features are usually expensive so I didn't hesitate when Sierra Trading Post had these on sale. This was by far the best deal I've found, even with shipping added. I would recommend this bag for car or RV camping, they are a bit heavy and bulky for backpacking, but are perfect for what we will use them for.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Good bag, if you buy it at half offReviewed by Nobody from Idaho on Thursday, July 21, 2016This is not an ALPS Mountaineering bag. It is ALPS Cedar Ridge. ALPS Cedar Ridge is the bargain priced, entry-level-quality offshoot of ALPS Mountaineering. Do not expect ALPS Mountaineering quality from this bag.
If you can get this bag for $39 or less, I think it's a decent value. It is definitely not worth $80. Or even $45.
The bag is made in China and it shows. Not to knock Chinese factories, plenty of great products can be made to high tolerances there. This bag is not one of them.
The "canvas" outer shell is not canvas at all. I have a 30 year old heavyweight (truly) canvas sleeping bag that is still going strong. I do not expect this Alps bag to last nearly that long. The outer material is cotton, but it is not much heavier than a regular t-shirt.
The thread used to hold this bag together is very thin and cheap. The stitch length is very inconsistent and the stitching meanders. Again, do not expect this sleeping bag to last a long time. I almost expect this bag to fall apart the first time I put it in a commercial washing machine.
The flannel interior is comfortable. For now. But again, high quality materials are not used in this bag.
I'd be shocked if this bag were warm down to its rated 0°. Or even 20°.
If you want a heavier weight sleeping bag and can get this bag for half off or less, I say go for it. If you are expecting a heavy-duty ALPS mountaineering bag, this is not it. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Ah-mazingVerified Buyer Reviewed by B.Smith from Colorado on Monday, July 4, 2016First night we used them, we set up in the snow! After years of having heavy blankets to keep up warm, the weight and bulk was too much. These bags worked great, zipped them together and had no problems. And no slippery nylon. Love these sleeping bags!

5.0 out of 5 stars. Just what we were looking forReviewed by ethebull from East Coast on Thursday, June 2, 2016We are car campers, and the two bags will serve us perfectly. Soft to the skin inside and out. The bulk and weight is uncommonly perfect for our needs.

3.0 out of 5 stars. BigVerified Buyer Reviewed by Hedgie from Seattle on Saturday, September 5, 2015This is a really big and bulky sleeping bag, as in rolled up more than double the size of a normal sleeping bag. I suppose you pay for the comfort with size.
