Not really a fan of sleeves but this tent is an exception. Very roomy, almost vertical walls all around except for the doors which are vertical - lots of headroom. Huge, and I mean huge vestibule on the one side - alot of gear can be stored here. And the vents on the fly are a nice touch. Yes, it's heavy but you know that from the specs - with that in mind, i consider this tent as ideal for car camping yet still able to backpack. Nice.

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Tent

I love this tent !! Perfect size with plenty of room for my Dog, gear and I. Easy straight forward set up and the rain fly makes extra room for packs and gear. The rain fly has two little vents with clever little poles the size of a drinking straw sewn into the fabric with velcro to prop the vents open
This tent was easy for me to set up all by myself. I did not need any extra hands or help. I did two practice set up runs and had it up under 10 minutes.
I love the mesh top so I can see the stars. I would buy this tent again and highly recommend it!
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Roomy tent for two. First experiences very positive.

I had my doubts about this tent. Other ALPS Mountaineering tents were reviewed as being leaky - which makes me nervous here in the soggy Pacific Northwest. However, my first five-day experience with this tent was very positive. It withstood persistent, heavy rain and strong winds (35 MPH) very well - with absolutely no leaks. Having previously had a conventional dome tent, I loved the two vestibules this tent provides - they remained dry underneath and were convenient to store stuff I wanted access to but didn't want cluttering the tent's interior. Initial setup was a tad confusing, it was hard to figure out which entrance was the front and which was the back (it matters once you try to put the rain fly on). However, once I had figured it out, the setup was a breeze. It's advertised as a three-man tent but that would be pretty cramped - it's roomy for two and palatial for one. Why only four stars? Well, it's very early days yet. The tent material is thin and the floor looks delicate. I would love to re-review after a year's worth of use but STP probably won't be carrying it by then!

Second Alps tent. Aluminum poles are great, easy set up,with loads of head room. Can't beat price on quality tent that is so light. Excellent 3 season tent.

Haven't taken it out camping yet, but set up and take down were a breeze in the living room. Appears to be of quality construction and materials, very spacious and very tall vertically, but not too tall… I look forward to taking it out this spring.
