Most Helpful 5-Star Review

5.0 out of 5 stars. Very nice for a tall thin person

I am 6'6" and 215 lbs. and the XL fit perfect. Nice long sleeves and body to wear comfortably.

Pros:
-For roughly $50, this was a steal.
-It is water resistant, as I poured water on it and it just rolled right off.
-Windproof.
-Draw cord hem, meaning that when it's colder out, you just tighten the cords. For me this is important for the winter in MN.
-Lightly fleece lined. I can wear this as a winter outer jacket with an insulating layer beneath. The jacket does run a bit slim, which I like, but I can still fit a fleece or a sweatshirt underneath.
-Hood, especially one that isn't too big and one that I can see out of. I can also tighten/loosen the hood.
-Chest zipper.
-Extra piece of tightening fabric at the end of the sleeves to keep the elements out. For me it's not tight at all on my wrists, it just seems to help keep the cold air out.
-Zipper hand pockets.
-Not noisy like a rain jacket.
-The red/brown color isn't too showy, so I don't feel very much attention being drawn to me.

Cons:
-The zipper hand pockets are placed just a little too far back for my liking, but there is more storage space as a result.

All in all, a great jacket.

The size is too big for me, and the sleeve is too long. I'm 5' 7" ,210lbs and i ordered XL. The jacket is light and good contract with finest sewing, next time i will order L for myself.

The jacket is light weight as others have stated, that's fine. The first jacket I ordered was a 2XL and it was Huge on me, so I paid the shipping back and forth and received a XL. This one is tight! Way too much of a difference in the sizing. I'll go on a diet so that I can wear the XL because it would cost too much to return it! I'm 5' 10" and 217lbs, soon to be 207lbs!! I hope this helps.
  • 2.0 out of 5 stars. Nice Jacket Sized Smaller Than Usual For An Xl.

After receiving the jacket from STP, I was immediately impressed by the look & color although it was markedly lighter than I had expected .
The problem, though , was that it was a very trim fit, and while I'm not fat by any stretch the jacket was quite snug, so I was forced to return lt.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Very Nice & Narrow Jacket

A very nice light weight, good construction jacket. However, the arm holes are small and the M jacket is a little long on me. I am 5'9, 175, and a wear a 40 short sport coat. I had trouble getting the jacket on/off while wearing a button down shirt. It is unfortunate because I wanted to replace my worn out TNF apex with a jacket that has a hood. A taller, thinner person may have better luck than me

About Mountain Hardwear

Starting back in 1993, a small group of outdoor industry mavericks broke away from the pack to follow a less-traveled path. From the very beginning, the primary goal of Mountain Hardwear was to create an outdoor gear brand with a sharp focus on technology-driven design, superior performance and hardcore reliability. The result of this function-first mentality has been an array of incredible Mountain Hardwear jackets, clothing, tents, backpacks, sleeping bags and accessories. Today, after more than two decades of industry-leading innovation, Mountain Hardwear continues to set new benchmarks for dependability in the toughest conditions on the planet.
