5.0 out of 5 stars. Love it!

I bought this jacket for cold weather running (I live in northern Michigan). I wanted a wind proof jacket to keep in the warmth and this jacket delivers! It doesn't hurt that I love the color and think the jacket is cute. I bought a medium and am able to layer a long sleeve tech shirt and fleece underneath (I am 5'3" and 130 lbs).

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Nice fit, but not insulated, so it's not as warm as I expected

PRO: I like the styling, cut, and fit of this jacket. I am 5'4" and 130 pounds, and the Medium fits perfectly over a fleece jacket and a shirt.

CON: This jacket is not very warm, since it's not insulated. Also, the sleeves are super long to accommodate the thumb-holes, which feels a little weird when you're trying to drive a car, but probably fine otherwise.

INCONSISTENCIES: The description states that the jacket is "insulated" but it is NOT. This is a simple shell, with no insulation. I just wanted to warn others who are considering this jacket to know that this part of the description is incorrect. Also, the photo shows the Mountain Hardwear logo as words on the left chest, but the logo is actually their trademark nut, and it's located near the bottom of the front left, between the main full-length zipper and the hand pocket zipper. The logo doesn't matter to me, but it might to others, so I thought I'd mention this.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. So far so good

Just recently got the jacket but loving it! I have a hard time finding woman’s jackets that will fit my upper body and not leave a giant gap at my waist for cold air to get in. But this jacket does the trick, it is a bit form fitting but it has some give in the material so it can fit differently shaped figures comfortably. I love the thumb holes, I can secure it down before putting my gloves on and it makes it super convenient when I want to use it as a middle layer, it’s not too bulky but it keeps you warm.

About Mountain Hardwear

Starting back in 1993, a small group of outdoor industry mavericks broke away from the pack to follow a less-traveled path. From the very beginning, the primary goal of Mountain Hardwear was to create an outdoor gear brand with a sharp focus on technology-driven design, superior performance and hardcore reliability. The result of this function-first mentality has been an array of incredible Mountain Hardwear jackets, clothing, tents, backpacks, sleeping bags and accessories. Today, after more than two decades of industry-leading innovation, Mountain Hardwear continues to set new benchmarks for dependability in the toughest conditions on the planet.
