5.0 out of 5 stars. Cure for foot problemsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Hikergal from Pacific Northwest on Monday, September 14, 2015I have been a huge fan of Hoka One One shoes for a couple of years now, and have several pair. I am an avid hiker and backpacker in my 50's. A few years ago, I developed plantar fasciitis and I was also having knee pain when hiking downhill. I found Hoka's on-line and gave them a try, and have been hooked ever since. I wear them for both hiking and backpacking and they have cured my foot and knee pain. Although some (my daughters!) might consider them to be goofy-looking, I have also received several compliments. And either way, they work, so who cares?!
I usually stick with the Bondi, because they have the widest toe box, which works for my somewhat wide front foot. Often, people find that they have to size up a half size, I think this is usually due to a narrow footbox in some models. -
2.0 out of 5 stars. Strange shoes for running, maybe some other activity...Reviewed by SFshopG from Silicon Valley, California on Thursday, August 20, 2015I had to sent it back because I couldn't see myself running in them; I wanted something with large cushion for road running, but ended up with Brooks again. Since I didn't run in them I can't comment much, however one thing that made me totally hate the shoes are laces. I tie my laces in a way that prevents my foot moving in the shoe, which is not possible with this one. I could have seen it on the picture, but it was my first Hoka and I couldn't believe that "Running shoes" wouldn't come with regular laces.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Very niceVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Washington State on Wednesday, July 22, 2015Very nice and comfy. They look fine to me because they are running shoes and people who judge which running shoes are fashionable and which aren't elude me, because they all look like plastic, breathable, lace-up shoes with loud colors. Someone said to try for planter faciitis, and I didn't think they made a difference for that, but they are comfy otherwise.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Awesome....simple as that. Try this test...Reviewed by ocngrl007 from Wilmington, NC on Thursday, July 9, 2015These are not like all your other sneakers....
I have these and the Hoka Clifton. I find these more comfortable for me and like the quick lace system. I also found the Clifton ran a little small and these are true to size. I have SI joint issues and back stuff - used to run 30 miles per week, but can't really do that mileage anymore. These are the first shoes I've worn that I can run 3-5 miles in and not be in pain. So I'm a convert.
But here's what I'd highly recommend - stop reading all the reviews and trying to figure out if you'd like them. Go to a shoe store that sells Hoka and other running shoes. Try a Hoka on one foot, and a really good, top-of-the-line running shoe from Nike, Adidas, Asics (whomever your favorite is) on the other foot. This is the easiest, fastest way to understand and FEEL the difference between the shoes - and there IS a difference. You will either like it, love it, be curious about it, or just say no way. It takes a little adjusting as they roll with your feet, so your stride feels a little funky at first and it might take a little getting used to...but I think you will quickly learn to love them. As for aesthetics, they're a little different from all the rest there too. But in this case function & comfort far outweigh if someone thinks they're weird looking. I like how they look. And I could care less - they have helped me renew my love of walking and running and I can look forward to it without pain.

2.0 out of 5 stars. Not for meVerified Buyer Reviewed by happy shopper from north shore on Sunday, June 21, 2015Just seemed overly cumbersome. I ordered my regular size 8 and they were just too big all the way around. A lot of shoe and not particularly attractive. They were returned.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great shoeVerified Buyer Reviewed by Cathnurse40 from Montana on Monday, June 15, 2015Based on the review of another, I purchased these shoes and so far I am happy with them. I too, wore the Brooks Adrenaline for years, 57, with chronic hip pain. I did a 10 mile run the second time I wore them and had no pain at all. The top edge of the shoe hits the bottom of my ankle bone, due to flat feet. I was afraid this might be a spot for a blister, but even after 10 miles, no irritation at all. I love the "Cushion" of the shoe and will plan to by the trail version of this shoe. Also, got a great price with deal flyer.

5.0 out of 5 stars. superior cushioningVerified Buyer Reviewed by Amelia from Great Lakes on Wednesday, April 29, 2015Where have these shoes been all my life? I've run in Saucony and Asics (both good brands) but these are the most cushioned and stable running shoes I've ever owned. The fit was true to size for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars. My Half Marathon Shoe!!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from New York on Monday, March 23, 2015This is MY shoe for long runs!! You might have read that running in Hokas is like running on clouds. It's true. I am now a fully sold out HOKA fan. I was running in a Brooks Adrenaline (an excellent shoe!). They corrected my pronation, but I will still having some pain in my toes and my hips. (I'm 53 years old) Hoka took care of that pain. I own the Stinson and the Bondi 3. I like the Stinson for short runs (with the late meta rocker) and the Bondi for long runs (with the early meta rocker). I also find that Bondi is a bit more cushy. If you have pain problems with hips, knees, or feet, I highly recommend giving these shoes a try.... and you CAN'T BEAT Sierra Trading prices. I've tried. Using their deal flyer, I couldn't find a better price anywhere on the web.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Unbelievable!!!Verified Buyer Reviewed by HikerGirlTN from Tennessee on Friday, March 20, 2015I LOVE these running shoes! I'm a new runner and have struggled with knee pain and shin splints. After having my feet analyzed, it turns out I'm a neutral with slight supination. These shoes were recommended for the cushioning and arch support. And they work!!! I thought for sure it would be like running with bricks on my feet because the shoes are so clunky looking. No way! They are like running on a cloud--very cushioned and very light weight. No pain at all and my running is getting stronger every day. I highly recommend these shoes and may get a pair to go on my long hikes in. Great shoe!
