He usually wears a L, ordered a XL, fit is good. Would not order these for a tall man, on a man that is 5'8" the straps are a bit tight even at the longest setting. I'm sure they will stretch out a bit and have a good fit after some time.

I ordered large, based on waist (I wear 36" - 38" depending on brand), but these are pretty tight even without any base layers.
I'm taller than average (6' 5") and these don't fit without stretching the elastic to it's max and the crotch riding up pretty bad. I'd guess these would stop being comfortable for anyone over 6'. If they'd added another 6" of elastic band on the suspenders, they could have made these work for everyone (there is plenty of adjustment in the suspenders to make these shorter).
I wish STP had included a decent sizing chart so I could have ordered the right size or skipped these all together. All I could find was the inseam in a size other than I was ordering, and the waist sizing is not accurate.

But....do not like shoulder straps!!! With the straps all the way extended, they pull bibs up into my crouch. I am used to Carhartt bibs....straps are buckled instead of sown on, more adjustment to them also. Ended up selling to my boss, he loves them!!!!
