5.0 out of 5 stars. Great ValueVerified Buyer Reviewed by Laura M from Georgia Mountains on Saturday, March 7, 2015I was concerned the about color accuracy, but it is a good dark navy. Sizing is true and I am short so it is knee length instead of car coat. That is good in winter winds.

5.0 out of 5 stars. I love this coatVerified Buyer Reviewed by gratificationdelayer from Illinois on Thursday, February 5, 2015I had been looking for a slightly more fashionable insulated coat than my current parka, but didn't want to spend a fortune. Sierra Trading Post came through with this lovely number, which I purchased in olive (the color of brown olives, not green ones....). It is surprisingly warm for a very light coat, fits perfectly (I'm 5'5" and about 145 pounds and bought a medium) and goes nicely over skirts or slacks. It's nice to go to work warm without looking like I'm leaving for a skiing adventure....

5.0 out of 5 stars. Beautiful - top quality !Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Minnesota on Saturday, January 24, 2015This is a perfect coat - super-warm with a sweater underneath if it's extra cold outside - and perfect for 'normal' cold weather. Scrunches up beautifully to fit into the little travel bag. Nice to stuff into your backpack if you are suddenly too warm.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Too SmallVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anne from Maine on Thursday, January 22, 2015I think the sizing for this one is odd--further examination said that a L was 10-12...hmmm. I wear a 12 shirt or other jacket, and this wouldn't even close! I am chesty, but wear an 8 or 10 in pants, and the waist on this one was no way a L...other L's always fit. I have had to return.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Correct previous review re hood!Reviewed by G.G. from Northeast Ohio on Wednesday, January 21, 2015This coat does indeed have a very nice hood - don't know where my brain went when I said I wish it had a hood . . . . .

4.0 out of 5 stars. Really nice!Verified Buyer Reviewed by G.G. from Northeast Ohio on Wednesday, January 21, 2015My daughter has a lovely packable down coat & I've been wanting one also, but not wanting to pay a big price. This is also very lovely - I get lots of compliments - the olive color is very versatile & it is soft and warm and comfortable. AND the price was terrific! What kept it from being a 5 star: the sizing is a little odd. Usually in a coat I need to size down, but based on my experience with the daughter's coat, I stayed with medium (5'4" 140 lbs no bust, no hips) The coat is perfect thru the shoulders, almost too long in the sleeves, but snug across the back & the hips (& I have no hips!)- fortunately it doesn't LOOK snug, and I have other coats to wear when I need to wear a blazer or bulky sweater under. The belt is just an annoyance and I will probably do as another reviewer did and remove the belt loops. A hood would have been nice as would a 2 way zipper (Perhaps I should have gone with the Ellen tracy parka? - but it didn't come in the color I wanted) Glad I didn't size UP as I am sure the sleeves would have been way too long and the shoulders drooping. All in all very pleased.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Stellar CoatReviewed by Anonymous from Portland, Oregon on Tuesday, January 20, 2015I am like the previous person who admitted they don't usually write reviews, but I had to write one for this coat. I am 5'10 and 150 lbs. and a medium fit perfectly. I have pretty broad shoulders too and the shoulder seams hit where they should and the sleeves are plenty long so no confining spaces. The coat itself is stylish without being garish. I got it in Olive green and its a rich classy color. The best part is its plenty warm. This is something I may even pack up and take camping or backpacking for shorter trips as it is so light and condenses down. It is the perfect length-keeps your bottom and hips warm without looking silly. The collar/hood have very nice details, however the hood doesn't cinch down so maybe wearing a beanie along with the hood on colder days. The only other downside are the sleeve openings. They are rather wide and allow cold air to get in, but I just make sure I wear a light sweater the fits snug around the wrists OR I roll the coat sleeves up a bit and this seems to help not let in so much cold air and adds a cute touch of style. Overall this coat is a steal! Can't believe there are any left

5.0 out of 5 stars. Long down coat with great neck closureVerified Buyer Reviewed by Karen the Skier from Los Angeles on Saturday, January 17, 2015True to size, warm and cozy down coat.
I wanted something that would totally cover at the neck and
shoulder and it does. Additionally, it has hood. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. Perfect for travelVerified Buyer Reviewed by Kris from Washington DC on Tuesday, January 13, 2015I never write reviews. That said, I need to tell everyone what a great deal this packable coat is. It is versatile (long enough to cover the bum and keep it from freezing on cold seats, warm enough for cold spring and fall weather, roomy enough to allow for sweater underneath for snow or use under a light raincoat if the weather is wet). It stuffs into a sac that makes a great airline pillow, is light enough to add NOTHING to your carry-on bag weight. I took off the belt loops and will not use the belt - the lines are flattering (tapered waistline) without belt - no boxy cut here. The ONLY downside I can think of is this is not a coat for really cold climates........but then again, you can't have packable, light, versatile, not boxy, and extremely warm all in the same coat! Go for it. I am 6 feet tall and ordered the XL - sleeves were long enough, and roomy to boot.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Light and warmReviewed by S. Hopwell from New Jersey on Sunday, January 11, 2015I ordered this jacket on the strength of the previous reviewer. Her comments were spot on. I'm also 5"9", usually wear size 8 or 10. I bought L. The sleeves are long enough for my gorilla arms. I haven't tried wearing the jacket over just a tshirt, but with a long-sleeved cotton shirt and an acrylic sweater, I felt fine at 20 degrees.
