1.0 out of 5 stars. worst sled everVerified Buyer Reviewed by Aggie from Folsom Lake on Wednesday, January 11, 2017I tried varying conditions from powder to ice and couldn't get this sled to move more than a few feet with a 250 lb adult on a 5-7.5% grade. After running the hill with a toboggan a few times and letting it freeze to ice overnight, I could creep slowly down the steepest parts. It worked a little better for my 50 lb kid as she could slide down the icy hill (but not the snow the day before) We got the same performance from the cardboard box the sled was shipped in until it was torn to shreds. I feel like the product is defective, but I cannot figure out how I can figure that out. Mine looks exactly like what is pictured on the website.
It is worth 1 star as the sled is very strong yet easily packed. I could check it in my luggage and it would allow me to sled under the most optimal conditions (steep hill with ice) -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Winter hiking just got betterVerified Buyer Reviewed by Just Dave from Utah on Tuesday, March 10, 2015It's very light. I attach it to my backpack. Can't even tell it's there. Very strong as I've ran over many rocks and branches. Easy to lean to use and control.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Bad batch of sledsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Scott from Utah on Thursday, January 22, 2015I have used these sleds for years and love them! I think you guys got a bad batch of them tho. Half of the sleds that I got from you either came collapsed or collapsed the first time out. When I say collapsed I'm talking about the bottom of the sled bowing in instead of out. That changes them from an awesome sled to a [...]. You can't steer them anymore and they won't go down most hills if the bottom has collapsed. It feels like you're trying to sled with the parking brake on. I'm a grown man but the one that collapsed our first time out had a 6 year old girl on it so it's not too much weight that was the problem. I love these sleds but I'm disappointed in the ones that I've gotten from you.

5.0 out of 5 stars. perfect tool for epic alpine sledVerified Buyer Reviewed by TED from Utah on Tuesday, January 20, 2015have a regular route that descends 1500 vertical feet over ~1.3 miles in narrow tree lined dry creek bed...it's maintained by a number local outfitters and neighborhood residents. Total hoot... kids and their friends strap on helmets and bomb down a few times a week. This is the only sled fit for purpose as it is small, maneuverable, easy to carry on the hike up, easy to stop / control speed (e.g. good for avoiding fast approaching trees). For this purpose it is the only tool appropriate for the task

5.0 out of 5 stars. Fun! Fun!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Mountain Kat from Utah on Friday, January 2, 2015Perfect way to end a winter hike! The sled is light enough to carry on the back of a pack, sturdy enough to withstand some unfortunate rocks in the trail and easy to maneuver in tight spaces. It is the only way to come back down the mountain after hiking/snow shoeing !!! Of course it's also fun to take down a ski slope where you can hit some fun speeds (38.2 was last years best).
