2.0 out of 5 stars. Great jacket, HORRIBLE hoodReviewed by Charlie from Delaware on Wednesday, January 13, 2016The style and color are awesome. The fit of the jacket was perfect for me (I usually have a very difficult time, some XLs are too small/XXL too big) But the xl fit perfect. All the features it has to offer are great, and seems pretty well insulated. The MAJOR let down however, is the hood. It's insanely big! It flops right over my head and covers my entire face. It's like they sewed an XXL-XXXL hood onto an XL jacket. Normally I wouldn't let something like that bother me, but it was just too much of a hastle to deal with. Had to return it. It dissapoints me that I won't be able to enjoy this jacket-going down a size would make the fitment too tight overall. Just be aware that the hood is HUGE prior to ordering. ( I could fit a full-face street bike helmet underneath it)

4.0 out of 5 stars. Large fits wellVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from flatland, Indiana on Tuesday, December 8, 2015The large came quickly in the mail and fits like I expected the Medium to. I can layer underneath if needed. Sleeves are long, but are intended to be this way. Powder skirt is good, and the overall comfort is exceptional when driving and walking around. I have not worn it skiing yet, but will report back when I find out if pit zips were necessary or not.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great JacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by Gim from North Alabama on Wednesday, November 25, 2015Fit and Finish on this jacket have been great. I'm 6 foot athletically built. This jacket fit very true to size. my only hang-up if anything is the hood is very large. After getting more familiar with the different drawstrings I was able to adjust it. but all in all excellent product.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Standard MH Construction, Fit leaves something to be desired.Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from flatland on Wednesday, November 25, 2015Out of the box this jacket is great looking, color, features, etc. There is a bit to be desired though. My initial reaction was this fits well and the light insulation will make it more versatile on the mountain, as I intend to use this primary skiing. I know MH has an athletic fit, but with my standard Medium size I felt constricted with even a light fleece on under it. I will be exchanging this for a Large. This jacket also lacks pit zips, ideally you wouldn't need them but its easy to overheat when working hard on a mogul or other technical run, or even if the sun peeks out of cloud cover mid day. With pit zips this would be a perfect jacket. I have had other DryQ jackets and I know the technology performs flawlessly. I will update this review when the large comes in the mail.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Purchased this jacket for my sonVerified Buyer Reviewed by DGRN from Vermont on Sunday, November 22, 2015Jacket weight was lighter than expected definitely will need good insulated layer on colder days. Great fit for long arms broad shoulders with slim waist.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great JacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by Love MTHW from MD on Thursday, April 30, 2015So as usual, Mountain Hardwear has made another really nice jacket. Unfortunately, I haven't used this in the field yet because I ordered this for next winter. I ordered the insulated version of this jacket and I would be sweating through my clothes if I wore this in hotter temps. However, I do know that the DryIQ technology is awesome, it will repel water for hours.
I've owned a lot of MTHW gear over the years and this must've been a fluke, but I ordered an "XL" (I'm 6'2" - 220 lbs) and when the jacket finally showed up, it looked like a table cloth, and I mean huge. The sleeves were 3 inches longer than my arms and the hood flopped down and completely covered my face. It was like a kid wearing his Dad's clothes. So I called 'em up and cust. service was great. I got another jacket (which was a "L" btw) and they upgraded my shipping. The "L" fit just right!! So maybe the sizes have grown a little...or this was a weird fluke. Anyways, Im still a loyal MTHW customer and I love Sierra Trading Post! I'll be ordering a size down in jackets from now on!
With this jacket, be aware that there is a slight angle to the sleeves...meaning the outside of the wrist cuff is longer than the inside. You can sort of see this in the pictures.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Nice jacket, but went with the SnowpulsionReviewed by Dan from Northern Vermont on Saturday, March 14, 2015This is a nice jacket, but I decided to go with the MH Snowpulsion instead. This jacket feels like the economy version of the Snowpulsion.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Mountain Hardwear...what can I sayVerified Buyer Reviewed by Whiskey Jim from Hudson, WI on Monday, February 9, 2015This is a great jacket made available at a great price by Sierra Trading Post.
I was looking for something with a little insulations as an option for alpine skiing. Something a bit more "grab and go" as compared to all the shell and mid-layer (fleece, down, etc.) that I tend to wear. There are some ski-specific clothing makers that provide some very expensive options which had backward (European) zipper and while I typically wear an XL the XXL in their version didn't fit. I looked to and old standby, STP, and searched specific brands, one of which is Mountain Hardwear and ordered the Sluice Dry.Q Core Jacket.
First of all it was a GREAT price for this item. Secondly, it FIT...no uncertainty in ordering an XL. Thirdly, it has great features for someone who skis. It has the powder skirt inside to keep snow, if you're lucky enough to get that deep powder, from coming in. It has plenty of pockets and it had exactly what I was looking for....a bit of insultation. Plus, it is a great looking jacket!
