5.0 out of 5 stars. Really nice boots

There’s only one review for these boots on STP, but there’s a lot of bad reviews on Amazon. Apparently there are 2 (maybe 3?) versions of these boots put out by Frye and several people didn’t like what they got.

The boots that STP is selling are really nice. They look great, they’re fully leather-lined, the outside leather is very sturdy, and the soles, heels and stitching all look great to me. This is the 3rd pair of Fryes I’ve owned, and like the other 2 pairs, these definitely need a few days break-in time, but once you soften them up they’re comfortable for all day wear.

The only slightly negative comment I have is that the boots are sort of flat on the insole, but I think this is a Frye thing. I fixed this with a pair of cheap insoles and now they’re perfect.

STP was having a 50% off promotion when I bought them so the price was great too. If you’re looking for a good casual knock-around boot that works well I would definitely recommend these.

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. 5 for quality and looks. But they run very small and would be better with grommets on the top 2 or 3 lace-guides

I wanted to send these back. But they are so beautiful and well-made, that I could not do it. Currently, I am trying to soften them up.
Oddly, they are quite narrow, and run small. I usually wear a woman's 10, only because I have wide feet. Technicallly, I need a woman's 8.5 ww.. So, I often go to men's sizes for boots. I bought these in a men's 9 (woman's 11, generally) thinking that they would be wider. They are so beautiful, that I risked it, and got them a size larger than the "male-female" charts. They are tight. Especially in the "ball" of the foot. Quality boots. Frye is great. These run very small I am sad.

I've been wearing these every day for two weeks. After a bit of a break-in period, they're very comfortable. I typically wear size 11 and ordered these in a 10. The fit is spot on.
