5.0 out of 5 stars. I was surprised, great boot!
Reviewed by Yosemite Hiker from Reno, Nevada on Friday, April 10, 2015
I wear a size 11 shoe, tried on 11 1/2 but size 12 fit the best in these. Plenty of toe room, great arch support. The sole is "just right", i.e. we did a 9 mile hike on rocky roads. The bottoms of my feet were not sore. They breathe great too. I was hesitant on the waterproof & breathing, but my feet were not sweaty. Very surprised and happy about that as most of my hiking is in warm to hot weather. Crossing streams on wet & mossy rocks was surprisingly good. The Spider Rubber does its job. I was careful to distribute my weight properly and never slipped. Also grip well on steep flat rock surfaces with patches of small rocks, pine needles and leaves. Also, plenty of cushioning. My age is 60 and I have very little cushioning on the bottoms of my feet. Very surprised at the comfort level, excellent.

  • 1.0 out of 5 stars. Not waterproof
Reviewed by Anonymous from rain forest on Saturday, October 24, 2015
Update to original review back in early spring: After 8 months of relatively light use, the boots leak like a sieve. That makes them nearly useless here in the rainy Pacific Northwest.
Otherwise they're decent boots. But why can't manufacturers produce a "waterproof" boot that is actually waterproof for longer than a few months? Why don't their products live up to the advertising claims?
Anyway, I'll just add these to my pile of boots that claim to be waterproof but aren't. Maybe use them for garden ornaments.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Nice boots

I am giving this 5 stars at this point because they are comfortable and seem to be well made. I wear them on the farm daily and they are keeping my feet dry at this point with good traction, support and comfort. My previous pair of Tevas separated between the sole and the upper and these look to be constructed the same way so I'm concerned that these will also fail. Sp far, so good.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Great boot

I'm a bit smaller than 12.5, bought a 13, fits perfect. Great arch support, roomy toe box, heel locks in. Looks clunky, but doesn't wear clunky. I bought the "Pine" color (with the green fabric panels), but the color of the leather was quite different. I was expecting a tan/khaki sort of color, but it's really more of a chalky slate/dark grey.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Super comfortable non-technical boots
Verified Buyer Reviewed by TXskier from Houston, TX on Friday, July 31, 2015
I bought these after getting the Kimtah mesh low hiking shoes, which are the most comfortable hikers I have ever worn. They are not technical shoes, mind you; that is to say, the fit is not athletic and close to your foot, and there's plenty of room in the shoe for your foot to move around. I sent these back because I wasn't crazy about the color or the look. To me, they are pretty clunky looking on the foot. Still, that's just a matter of taste. If they are like the other Kimtahs I have, they are very well made and super comfortable right out of the box. Should be a great non-technical, all purpose waterproof hiker for those who like the look.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. husband liked
Verified Buyer Reviewed by coffeelvr from va on Wednesday, July 29, 2015
My husband works outside and walks for miles and miles. He liked the Tevas the best but said the soles didn't quite have enough support that you can still feel the rocky terrain underfoot. That's why it gets 4 stars not 5. Keens are his all time favorite.
