2.0 out of 5 stars. runs small even w/ one size over...Reviewed by Anonymous from Kenai Mountains, Alaska on Wednesday, December 2, 2015...these are small at Size 12 Men, compared to my usual size in other brands
where size 10.5 or 11 will do adequately with extra socks for hiking, winter, etc.
And they run small against other Teva boots such as those recently bought of
another model (after receipt of replacement for defective Teva KimTah Mid WP)
where I bought size 11.5 due to the noted size discrepancies by other buyers;
who said they ran small, so I bought larger than suggested, for winter socks or
for double socks. So I can't wear winter-weight socks in either of these.
The KimTah mesh WP proves to be a more comfortable boot out of the box,
while these Riva Winter Mid boots are more constraining and at size 12 are
better for an urban asphalt hiker in a shopping mall, wearing thin dress socks
if your feet happen to actually be a mens 10.5 w/ metal foot measuring device.
Even the margin of error between Tevas leaves one wanting, since there is no
discounts on shipping to where I am, STP 'bargain vs usefulness' is also eroded.
And the shorter return window (has to be 'as new' & 'resaleable' under new rules
makes the prudent pragmatic buyer shy away from these irregular misfit goods.
Also, I'm reluctant to buy gifts from STP when they may not fit, since STP has
no easy method for those at a distance, who may have gotten a box in the mail
and cannot understand the method to get a replacement size, or would rather
have a choice if there isn't something in their size... Both the gift-giver and the
recipient lose out when the item goes to a different address & it isn't quite right.
These Riva shoes may be OK, but are poor compared to quality footwear...
some Italian hiking & mountaineering boots I've had last for decades & feel
custom fitted out of their box. Without custom insoles. I rate them only a Two. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. Teva Riva Winter Mid Hiking Boots - Waterproof (For Men)Verified Buyer Reviewed by Kachina Hiker from Northern New Mexico on Thursday, October 1, 2015For the price these are decent lightweight hiking boots. Good for hiking on trails and any easy off-trail routes. Very lightweight, built with durable materials to last several seasons if used properly.
I wouldn't use these as Winter boots as they are marketed as, they are a bit too light and low to handle harsh snowy conditions, but for late Autumn and Summer hikes when the nights get cool they are perfect. -

2.0 out of 5 stars. Great fit, poor waterproofingVerified Buyer Reviewed by JohnnyB from Washington on Monday, September 28, 2015These boots were a great fit right out of the box and took little time to break in. The tread pattern makes for great grip while going over uneven and loose terrain.
On the down side, the waterproofing did work as expected. My toes began to get wet by the 5th hour of wear in the field when hiking though areas of wet grass. Thus the rest of the weekend was spent with wet feet. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Great ValueVerified Buyer Reviewed by Marlon from Az on Saturday, August 29, 2015My first pair of insulated hiking boots. Can't wait to try in snow. The fit is perfect for me but might run a bit small. Let you know how they fair
after the winter is over. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. Tiva River HikersVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Michigan on Friday, August 28, 2015Still evaluating the boot. Length is good but circumfrance is tight. Almost too much so that by the end of the day they will be too small.

5.0 out of 5 stars. These boots will make your friends and family jealous... literallyVerified Buyer Reviewed by HeidiPacific from San Diego on Thursday, June 18, 2015So, my husband bought a pair. And I was like "whatever." Then they arrived and he let me handle them. WOW. These boots are serious tough-stuff quality. I was immediately jealous. So I bought a pair, too. ha! I wear a women's 9 and bought a men's 8 in these and they are a perfect fit. Granted, being a men's shoe the footbed is more roomy than a woman's shoe, but I guess that's why an 8 worked for me. These boots are super high quality, vibram, leather, hard-toe boots. There is little to no bend in the sole, which is pretty standard for hiking boots. They are graded at -25? -15? I don't know--something really cold that I hope to never be in. But if I am, my tootsies will totally be toasty. My husband is a 10.5 and got a 10.5 on account of the reviews that they run big. He wishes he would have purchased a 11 to account for a thick sock. But as STP is out of 11, he loves the boot so much he will keep the 10.5 and wear a thin wool sock when he wears them.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Should be great when winter comesVerified Buyer Reviewed by Hiking Bob from Colorado on Wednesday, June 10, 2015The winter hiking boots I had worn for several years finally wore out, so it was time for new ones. I found these on STP, and ordered a pair, and so far, they look great.
The fit is good, but take heed of the other reviewers comments about size. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Great Shoes, Great ValueVerified Buyer Reviewed by Famis from Connecticut on Friday, April 3, 2015These shoes felt great the first time I putt hem on -- they cradle the foot bed, easy to walk in, nicely cushioned, though I think better on dirt trails than sidewalks.
All the reviews that have mentioned they run small were correct in my experience. I had to send them back for the 1/2 size larger. -
