4.0 out of 5 stars. Nice Reel - Check Specs before BuyingReviewed by Adam and Steve from PACNW on Saturday, August 1, 2015Purchased EMCAST 6000 based on STP published specs for line weight of 12 - 20lb.
The EMCAST 6000 is a BIG reel for line weight 25 - 40lb.
Returned and now looking for EMCAST 4500 or similar size. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Daiwa's Emcast Salt Striker Surf spinning reelVerified Buyer Reviewed by Ken from titusville, nj on Wednesday, July 29, 2015I switched to Diawa spinning reels more years ago than I care to remember. They just seem to hold-up a lot longer than others under heavy fishing conditions. I paired this reel with a 10ft Tica UEHA surf rod and couldn't be happier! Diawa quality, great casting ability and an extra spool? Good to go for years to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great value for the moneyReviewed by Anonymous from Fayetteville, Arkansas, U. S. A. on Saturday, July 11, 2015This is a well made reel and I do not believe the price can be beat anywhere. I bought one for surf fishing and cat fishing.I loaded one spool with 17 lb. line and the other with 14 lb line. The reel picks up libe nicely and paired with an eight rod it casts beautifully. It is well made and should stand up to the rigors of the kind of fishing I do. This is one of the best deals at STP fishing.

5.0 out of 5 stars. A giftVerified Buyer Reviewed by Au Sable Trout Bum from Michigan on Saturday, June 20, 2015I purchased 2 of these a while back. They are solid and operate smoothly and quietly. Haven't had them in the salt and sand as yet. I bought this one for a friend.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great value for a sturdy well made surf reelReviewed by Gtom61 from SF Bay Area on Tuesday, June 16, 2015Purchased the 5000 at a ridiculously great STP price. Lightweight reel, spools 240yds of 20lb mono, extra ABS spool, 8 ball bearings, push button collapsible handle. Such a great deal, i bought two. I already have the 6000. But the clincher for me was the 33lb of drag! That is phenomenal for a reel this price and it is covered by the Daiwa 1yr warranty.
Used it once so far for Stripers in northern california and it's a heck of a reel. Solid feel and nice adjustable drag. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. Dauwa Emcast Salt Striker Surf Spinning ReelVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from North Carolina on Thursday, May 21, 2015Looks and feels like a quality reel. Smooth action, I have loaded it with mono line. Cast it once on land have not used it in the surf, the reason for 4 stars.
