About La Sportiva Katana Climbing Shoes (For Men and Women)
Closeouts. The La Sportiva Katana climbing shoe is a versatile design that's ready to tackle trad and sport routes, face and crack climbing, or pull plastic at the gym. A comfortable Pacific synthetic-fiber lining in the forefoot adds toe-knuckle comfort, and the combination of a Slingshot Rand and opposing hook-and-loop straps gives you a locked-in fit. The Vibram® XS Edge rubber focuses your weight on the smallest of holds and is extremely resistant to deformation and damage.
- Pacific synthetic-fiber lining material in forefoot stretches for comfort and shape retention
- Slingshot Rand is a proprietary La Sportiva one-piece rubber rand that wraps around the foot to create a powerful forefoot fit
- Powerhinge technology links the bottom of the sole and the Slingshot Rand to reduce forefoot stretch and enhance edging
- Dual opposing touch-fasten straps allow a quick, custom fit
- Vibram® XS Edge rubber formula is designed for technical edging
- Vibram® XS Edge rubber compound is exceptionally resistant to deformation on edges and resists creep when smearing
- Aggressive Tight Fit: Order 2 sizes smaller
- All Day Comfort Fit: True to size
- Made in Italy
- Climbing activities are inherently dangerous; we recommend getting proper instruction on its correct and safe use -- for any refund, climbing gear must be returned in its original packaging/coil, and have original hangtags and plastic wrapper

5.0 out of 5 stars. Love KatanasVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Colorado on Tuesday, January 2, 2018I had the blue women's Katana velcros for many years and resoles. I loved them and never wanted to get another shoe. So I was very disappointed to find out that the shoe was discontinued by La Sportiva. I went to a couple of climbing stores to try on other shoes and even bought one, but was very disappointed. They weren't my Katanas and were so expensive. Then my friend sent me a link to these....the day way saved!
The shoes were very tight to start, but with just a couple of sessions stretched to a comfortable fit. The edging is fantastic. I love these shes because they allow for some nice technique, without being overly technical shoes. The feel good for a wide range of route styles. They are just cozy enough that I'm ok wearing them for a few pitches without a break if need be.
Thanks for saving the day with these shoes! -

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great Starting/Intermediate ShoeVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Connecticut on Monday, April 24, 2017Really nice edge and toe. I can wear them for hours at a time and not feel too cramped. Ive taken them outdoors a few times and they perform well. I bought them at size (9.5 mens) and i wear 9.5-10 mens in regular shoes.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Seems like it'll be an awesome shoeVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from California on Saturday, February 25, 2017Haven't had the chance to wear them yet, but ordering them my street size seems like a good move provided they don't stretch too much. The shoes look great, but beyond that, the toe seems like it'll be great for edging indoors - can't wait to take them for a test run!

4.0 out of 5 stars. Great climbing shoesVerified Buyer Reviewed by Connor from New York on Wednesday, February 22, 2017Great shoes, however they might need to take awhile to break in for you! Mine are amazing for climbing but the heel is extremely tight and very painful. I'm assuming they just need to be broken in a bit.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Good StartersVerified Buyer Reviewed by Beginner Climber from Utah on Monday, June 22, 2015I normally wear an 81/2 or 9 shoe and I ordered a 40 and it feels just right. I only picked up climbing this season an am not that experienced. The shoes are well made and (relatively) comfortable. Grips well.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Great shoeReviewed by Anonymous from California on Sunday, May 3, 2015Bought these and a pair of La Sportiva Cobras to compare. Great toe box and not a super aggressive downturn. Definitely like the cobras more, but these are still great. Ill probably keep my Cobras for outdoor and these for the gym. If you can get em on sale they're worth a try!
Normally wear a 10.5 street shoe and bought these in 41.5 (8.5US). Tight at first but they did stretch and fit great now.
