It is definitely heavy, but it’s wool combined with a full fleece lining. It’s more like a jacket than a sweater. I think the draw strings on the bottom are good; you can adjust where the hem stays, but it kind of a short sweater anyway, so I don’t know how useful that is. I don’t use them, but they don’t bother me either.
I do like the fleece-lined raised collar – it helps with warmth without having it zipped up all the way. I’m 5-10/165 and the large fits well.
The colors are good, it looks really cool and the sweater I got did not smell like a barn, or any other animal enclosure.

I thought that the bottom drawstring looked goofy, so I cut it off. Other than that, I'm very happy with this sweater. -

This sweater probably weighs 3lbs and though the tassels aren't my favorite it's a functional piece of gear.

But there are two deal breakers for me: it is incredibly heavy and the wool is coarse and smells like a barn.
