Would work fine on nonmetallic handles.

The other side is very thin, non-insulated cotton. If your hand slips a little, you can get burned. Also, you should be very careful when you put them on. When using, I would suggest leaving them silicone side down so you can slip your hand inside correctly each time you grab something hot. A pot holder should work no matter which way you grab it. I will only use these as trivets for hot pans and would not purchase again.
