5.0 out of 5 stars. Great value for a good winter vest

This is a very suitable winter vest. The outside pockets have zippers, and are deep, but they are not as nice, in my opinion, as the pockets on the Carhartt Arctic vest (those pockets are deep and keep the hands warmer, but they don't have zippers). However, unlike the Arctic vest, this Jefferson vest zips up higher, to cover the neck, which is nice.
There are two inside pockets: on the left is a lower inside cellphone pocket, with a headphones opening and zipper closure, and on the inside right is a higher wallet pocket with a velcro closure). My favorite feature of the vest is the longer "tail", which is the cut on the back of the vest that drops down to cover the belt. This is practical for cold weather work, especially in keeping wind out when you're moving around, and it also looks nice.
As regards sizing, I bought this vest as a gift for my father: he wears a 38 waist and is 6', and size "Large" fits him well (he likes the vest to zip up snug over a flannel). If you prefer a little more room, or intend to where thicker clothing (ie, a hoodie) under and wish to zip it up, those in the 38" waist range should probably select the XL for a little more room. Overall, this is a great vest and I would buy another.

  • 1.0 out of 5 stars. IRREGULAR products

If I'd realized this was an irregular product, I'd never have purchased it. Especially for less than a 20% savings from a quality product! I was so excited to wrap this Christmas gift and was surprised to see IRREGULAR on the tag, stamped on the inside label of the vest and hand written on the inside of the vest. The word IRREGULAR is listed nowhere on the description.

I have been looking for a work vest for years. when you need a 3x or larger, it gets tough. I have had it for a month, and I believe that the best thing I can say about it is. I bought another. It's well cut. It's warm, and it's comfortable.

About Carhartt

If you're looking for durable, comfortable clothing and outerwear, few other brands can compete with Carhartt. Although the venerable Carhartt clothing company has become one of the most respected names in American work wear today, the brand comes from humble roots. Founded in 1889, the family-owned business started out in Detroit, Michigan with just two sewing machines and five employees. During The First World War, the company made uniforms for the US military and also manufactured work clothing for the Navy during WWII. Today, Carhartt clothing is still known for robust fabrics, top-notch construction and a great fit. From rugged Carhartt jackets and coveralls to jeans and shirts, this is one brand you can trust to deliver the real deal -- every time.
