5.0 out of 5 stars. Light weight and water proofVerified Buyer Reviewed by JohnnyB from Puyallup WA on Tuesday, November 17, 2015This hooded light weight rain gear fits the bill! I'm able to layer as needed and stay dry. No more rain water dripping down my neck! The material is fairly quiet when going through the brush and the design of the bottom deflects rain from your waist. Pockets are of good size in addition to the two breast pockets, one zippered and the other magnetic. This magnetic closure is pretty cool but too noisy for the woods. Use it sparingly.
Northwest hunting can be very wet and a day of 100% heavy rain can prove to be too much for any rain gear, including this jacket. Yes after 4-5 hours of steady heavy rain I did get wet. But that was due to my day pack. Where the straps rested on my shoulders is where the water eventually penetrated. How would this jacket fair without any backpacks or slings over the shoulder? I didn't get to find out. Post Script: my military issued 100% Gortex jacket faired exactly the same.
This Banded Ace jacket is now part of my NW primary hunting gear! -
4.0 out of 5 stars. Time will tellVerified Buyer Reviewed by jmmysms from SATX on Thursday, October 8, 2015First, size is right for 2XLT. I like the pit zips. Jury still out on hood. Surprised to find an additional pocket on the chest.
It has not rained here and probably won't so I won't get to test the waterproofing until later. Will it be durable? -
4.0 out of 5 stars. Nice but sleeves way too looooooong...Reviewed by Anonymous from Delaware on Wednesday, July 22, 2015I am 6'0" 180# 42" chest. I first ordered the XL since I heard Banded clothing runs small and I like to layer. The XL fit me in the body (a bit large for me but I wanted room for layering) but the sleeves were ridiculously long. 75" cuff to cuff. My arms are only 71.5" finger tip to finger tip. So I returned for a size large. Size large has the same sleeve length at 75", and same body height, but body is a full inch narrower.
I am keeping the L because it is otherwise a really nice lightweight jacket. Zipper is a bit too fine and can catch the inner wind flap. chest pockets are way big... your cell phone and calls will get lost in there. (Magnetic left pocket, zip right). Hand pockets are just OK, not lined though. Have not tested waterproof, but seams are nicely sealed. Material is al little noisy, but not too bad. Overall I'd recommend if you don't mind the extra arm length.
Other measurements are:
pit to pit: 27.5"
pit to cuff: 23"
cuff to cuff" 75"
Neck to back bottom: 32
neck to front bottom: 29
width at waist: 24"
