  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Not Warm Enough FOR ME
Reviewed by Plum Blossom from Southern Michigan on Tuesday, November 10, 2015
I wanted so much to like the sweater. The knit design and the color are beautiful. Unfortunately, the wool blend is not as warm as 100% wool. Since warmth is a priority for me during our Michigan winters, I had to return the sweater.

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Almost perfect

I'm tall and the arm and body length are adequate. I have the navy and the yarns have a little bit of heathering in them so it is not a solid navy. It's a nice soft texture and the cabling detail extends down the sleeves and is also on the back of the sweater. It looks very finished. I take one star off for anything that has to be dry cleaned.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. I want to buy a second one of these sweaters

I like this so much I want to purchase another in a different color. I bought the red; it will be great for around the holidays and in winter. However, I think I want the navy or tan for running around town in jeans or staying warm at home. The XL is generous on me; I am a size 14, but I like my sweaters loose. The feel of the wool and intricate look of the cabling make this a great value sweater. I have been hesitant to buy an expensive Irish sweater because I am hard on my clothes with coffee drips, etc. I think this one fills the gap if you like classic styles.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Button, button

When I received the sweater I wondered why there was a little button under the collar. It seemed like there should be an accompanying buttonhole or something. Apparently, based on the photo, the loop is missing. I don't care, since I'd never button it up that high, but maybe the missing loop is why this sweater ended up at STP. The sleeves could be just a little bit longer since they're too short to turn back the ribbed cuff--the sleeves end right below my wrists, which is OK, but I prefer longer sleeves on sweaters.

I was surprised at how heavy the sweater is. I'm very happy with the weight since I wanted something that will be warm in our cold winters in the Chicago area. It's also very soft, and the color (a heathery denim blue) is perfect. I also love the hand pockets!
