4.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent quality + great gripReviewed by Davey Crockett from Tennessee, California on Tuesday, February 14, 2017This particular Vibram tread grips wet rock like a gecko. Very pleased with that aspect. The drawback with great wet rock gripping like this is that it also means a softer tread and sacrificing a bit of durability. Happily sacrificed.
The size 9 fit very well width and length-wise, and true-to-size, although the toe bed was a little bit shallow and required a bit of breaking in. A firm welt protects from the elements and impacts. The cable webbing create a fortified structure that is very stable. Great arch, too.
Lastly, the materials and construction are amazingly great quality. Very pleased overall. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Salewa Firetail's are super!Verified Buyer Reviewed by casual hiker from Charlton, MA on Sunday, June 5, 2016I have had two pairs of these for while and when I saw Sierra had them I jumped on it! Style and comfort and Sierra combined that with a great price.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Narrow and long, well madeReviewed by Colin from Oregon on Saturday, June 4, 2016If you have narrow feet these are an excellent hiking shoe. Stiff enough for lightweight backpacking but light enough to cover serious ground. They run very narrow in the forefoot and about 1/2 size longer than normal. My feet are 45.5 (11.5ish US) and I wear a 12 in nearly every running shoe and boot except these, 12's were about 1/2 size too big, maybe even more. Seems like someone screwed up the Euro to US conversion

3.0 out of 5 stars. too big but popular....Verified Buyer Reviewed by Runnin Mike from PA on Wednesday, May 4, 2016Everything about these shoes has awesome written all over them. The lacing system is incredible and the footbed about perfect. However I never got to wear them for more than the 10 min I needed to decide to send them back.....way too big! I always get a 9 and that always gives me just enough room for heavy socks if I need them. They are sized a minimum of 1 size larger....I needed an 8 which they had when I ordered the first time but they didn't upon returning them. So I had to get a different shoe all together. Had I read the reviews more thoroughly this wouldn't have happened. So the 3 stars is a reflection of size more than anything else as I never really got to put them through their paces. So please order one size down.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great sturdy shoesVerified Buyer Reviewed by JB from Ohio on Wednesday, July 1, 2015This is my 3rd pair of Salewa shoes close to this style. I wear these most all the time so I have various colors. They are sturdy and take a beating. Worked well in Yosemite and the city. I find the sizing correct and the ability to get a bit more or less room using the foot bed a plus. I like the unique look of the shoe, not like everyone else. These are not available in every sporting goods store you visit. Most people have never seen them. I've always gotten the best pricing at Sierra Trading Post!

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great Comfort and FunctionVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Southwest on Friday, April 10, 2015Had a pair of these last year. Went hundreds of miles trail hiking, running, and camping through the dessert southwest, Nevada and Arizona. Even used them for range days here and there. Fit and comfort levels are what you would expect from top named brand athletic shoes. Grip and traction on terrain as well as urban settings are top notch, didn't slip once while hiking and climbing. Put more than enough wear and tear through my first pair that I would have expected them to break in less than half the time, but they pushed through. The only reason I ended up needing a new pair was because the TSA left my luggage open and lost my favorite pair of shoes. Thanks to Sierra Trading for having these in stock in my size for a better than great price/value. Do yourself and your feet a favor, get a pair of these shoes!

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great Shoes!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Blackmoon from Florida on Monday, March 16, 2015Comfortable well made shoe. Size may run slightly large but that is no problem with the lacing system. "Grippy" sole works well on wet surfaces.
