Most Helpful 5-Star Review

5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent Insulating Layer!
Reviewed by Kirk from SE Alaska on Monday, February 22, 2016
When i bought this jacket a few months ago I thought I was going to primarily use it back-packing or on day-hikes on cold days. It has quickly become my go-to jacket for every day use. With just a t-shirt underneath, I can throw this on and be comfortable in temperatures ranging from 10 to 50 degrees. It's a bit warm above 40...and below 10 you might get a bit chilly if you are outside for long.
I haven't tested it in lots of rain yet, but it performs great in light rain/mists (at least for a few hours).
I haven't tested it on a multi-day hike yet, but it is so light and packs up so small i'm confident It'll be a great jacket to bring on most trips.
The exterior materiel does seem fairly fragile. Whenever i snowboard I use it as my insulating layer and throw a shell on top to cut the wind and protect the down jacket. Likewise if a trail cuts through bushes or brambles I would put another layer on to protect it.
Hope this helps.

  • 2.0 out of 5 stars. Great jacket, but fabric is like tissue

Nicely cut, well-made jacket. But the fabric is so delicate that it snags and tears very easily. I've had to make several repairs in a couple of months of wearing in town.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. See through fabric

Overall good jacket. Super light and warm. The fabric is soo thin the dark peices of down show up as dark spots on the jacket. The fabric is also very noisy. I'm not sure how they can call it whisper anything. If I paid full price I would be upset and only give 1 or 2 stars but I got it on clearance. Compared to other jackets in the clearance price range it stands out.

Light, comfortable, stylish and warm. Everything I want in a jacket like this.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Too small

I followed the sizing chart and ordered a xl to fit my measurements. The arms fit well and the length was good but the chest was too small. I had to return it and get a 2x. The exchange process was simple. The quality is good. The warmth to weight ratio is fantastic. I use it as a mid layer for late season hunts. I keep it in my pack while moving and wear it while sitting. The outer fabric is a little noisy. Overall a god jacket.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. good jacket

Good warm jacket, very light, and packable, I am 6.2, 220 lb and XL size is fine. 4/5 stars because I expect problems with zippers in future. They don't look like they can last ( looks like a cheap zipper , different from others jackets like Marmot) . Over all I am happy with this buy and eggplant color is nice.
