  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Different size and shape toe caps, look carefully
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Wheeler Canyon Ted from Ventura Ca on Saturday, April 25, 2015
Too bad, I love Keens, their usual quality and fit, but not these. I ordered one pair and at first loved how they looked, and with my fairly wide foot, they fix well like the usual Keen with the wide toe box. Unfortunately, I noticed that the rubber toe caps were totally different shapes and size. Loved the look and feel so much, I decided to order a second pair before they were gone, and the second pair also had two totally different shaped toe caps. I thought I could just try and match the four shoes up, but none had the same shape or size toe cap that weren't obviously different. Keens are my still favorite shoe, but these should be labeled seconds and not discontinued. If you don't mind odd and different shape and sizes toe caps, these are comfortable shoes, but not for me, and they are going back.

Its a nice combo boot-meaning-rugged enough for the trail or work site---but also equally at home on the streets or around town.

  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Disappointed Keen Fan

I feel I'm being a bit generous in giving these Keen Briggs boots 3 stars, but I do want to be fair. I generally wear a 12 W (EE) in most brands of boots, but with Keens have always found a 13 M to be about perfect. Therefore, when I ordered these boots, I went with what had always worked well in the past and got the 13 M. Unfortunately, the boots I received, while pretty close lengthwise, were way too wide. Even with very thick socks, my forefoot felt way too loose.

Additionally, upon arrival, the R boot had a 'dimple' or round impression in the leather immediately behind the toe guard just over the middle toe. I thought this might correct itself and that perhaps the boots would feel more secure with time, but no luck in either area. The final straw was development of a 'clicking' sensation in the heel of the R boot.

On the positive side, the boots look good and I have nothing but positive things to say about Sierra Trading Post and their great customer service.

I have always found Keen shoes/boots to be very comfortable and this pair was no exception.

About Keen

Keen shoes have been helping feet find adventure since 2003, and it all began with the signature KEEN.PROTECT toe bumper. It might seem strange to build a footwear company around a feature, but that iconic toe bumper is more than just a style add-on. It’s what allows Keen sandals to hit the trails and provide the best toe protection possible. In fact, Keen was one of the first footwear companies to make closed-toed hiking sandals. Over the years, the product selection has continued to grow and now includes Keen hiking boots, trail shoes, cycling shoes, socks, clothing and bags. The brand is also actively involved in land and water conservation projects in the US, Canada, Europe and Japan.
