3.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent Quality, but...Reviewed by Anonymous from SF Bay Area on Friday, January 6, 2017I ordered this jacket in red, "Dried Tomato", sz small. For ref, I am 5'4'', 116#.
Pros: Beautiful red color, that the pic online doesnt do justice. The quality of finish and fabric is Wolfskin topnotch. The sizing is appropriate.BTW, the hood is detachable. The QA on this site says it is not. As one reviewer has mentioned and Jack Wolfskin website says, it is detachable. This detail was important to me. The jacket seems do excellent job of keeping you warm. The design is not so top notch!. The upper arm/ shoulder down baffle are large, almost makes me look like a Michellen man. Lower half of the jacket is shaped( feminine) properly. The very design of increasing width of baffle for the top part of the jacket makes this aspect of the design, very poor aesthetic sense and contributes to shoulder and upper arm looking way puffed up. The sleeves are little to long and adds to bunching up. I bought this for backpacking trip at 17K feet and it would serve its function well, but I am not certain I want to keep it. Although described as "lightweight" its not a packable jacket. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Best down jacket I have ever ownedVerified Buyer Reviewed by Bird woman from IA. on Monday, November 7, 2016This is the second coat I have purchased,( just to have another color) Warm throughout our Iowa winters, but light enough for Spring and Fall. Fits great, but I purchased the large in these although I usually wear a medium.(5ft2,130#) Not too puffy or shiny. The hood is warm, adjustable and not too big. Just a great, high quality item.

5.0 out of 5 stars. I love this jacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by Walk the miles. from Wisconsin on Saturday, February 20, 2016It is warm but not sweaty-warm. The sleeves are long enough. The zipper purrs rather than clicks and skips. The neck collar is so soft and warm, but unzip a few inches when you work up some heat and your temperature is well regulated. Only two pockets (no interior) helps to keep things simple. The hood can be adjusted to your head buy a pull toward the back. It's warmth and protection is welcome when the wind blows and the snow snows. Great jacket.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Perfect down jacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by trail rider from Georgia on Monday, February 8, 2016One of the best clothing purchases I've made! This jacket is high in every detail: fabric, design, stitching. I wanted a lightweight, non-bulky jacket with a hood for horseback trail riding On windy winter days, and this one is perfect. Love the color also - versatile, yet bright. One tiny wish: inner pocket for phone or keys.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Jack Wolfskin JacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by Karen from Salt Lake City on Sunday, January 17, 2016This is a comfortable, attractive, and well-built jacket. I will enjoy it for years to come. I originally bought a small based on the sizing chart, but I need to exchange it for a medium. I have noticed this with other Jack Wolfskin clothes.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Lovely jacket. Just what I was looking for.Verified Buyer Reviewed by CC from CA from CA on Thursday, January 14, 2016This jacket bucks the current trend of shiny down jackets. It is lightweight, the material looks outdoorsy...a rare find. It is beautiful (dark blue with brilliant orange lining) and cozy with nice hand pockets.
The quality was so fine, I looked for a similar Jack Wolfskin jacket for my husband. -
