Versatile Womens' CoatVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Alaska on Friday, April 1, 2016Well, I actually haven't worn it yet in inclement weather, but it looks like it will do what I want and keep me warm and dry. The fit is good (true to size). I'm wearing it tomorrow (04/02/16) for the first time in Dillingham, AK, USA, but won't be outside too long. I commute by bike to/from work, so keep clothes in my office. I needed a this style coat for daytime errands by foot around town. I have a Craghoppers jacket that is this style, and loved it so much I wanted another, but alas, coudn't find one. So, found this one. This exterior finish is smooth compared to shiny n the Craghoppers, which will probably mean it's not quite as water resistant as the Craghopper's. It was not easy to find a zip-in thermal lining, which I really wanted in a coat, because I take it out and wear just the shell come May. Then just the thermal lining in the fall until it's time to put both layers back together for winter.

I wore it with and without the liner,as the weather was very changeable. It is waterproof .I also had room for a sweater.I brought the M, the fit is long and lean.I'm 5 ft 8, the sleeves were nice and long felt like it was made for me. I loved all the pockets, and detachable hood. It was smart enough for the city, but also great for hiking. Its now my favorite coat.

If an x-small had been available, I'm sure I would have kept it. I think it does run true to size, but I ordered the small hoping that it might fit my 5'6" 112lb self. Very nice, velvety smooth matte shell fabric. The zip out fleece lining is fully finished with pockets so it can be worn separately.

At 5'7"/size 12 I'm not petite by any means. This coat is "lean" as in close-fitting and "long" in that the hood stood well above the top of my head when up. And I was looking for something that better fit our weather here in TN just below the Smokies. And at such a great price, too.

Although at first I didn't think it was flattering my co-worker convinced me to keep it. I'm so glad I did. I used the elastic draw strings to pull in the waist to make the coat a little more flattering. While in Scotland we were lucky and had good weather so I used the fleece liner most of the time I was in Edinburgh and Inverness. However once we hit the highlands I was grateful I had the shell. It covered my bum so I was able to sit on wet benches, ferry benches, etc. and not worrying about it unlike my traveling companions who had short raincoats and couldn't sit down after a rain storm. When it rained and the weather was warm I was able to take out the fleece. I ended up falling in love with the coat, and for the price it was a steal. I had shopped for a GoreTex jacket/coat and the prices were double to triple what I paid. The coat was 100% waterproof and I was in a pretty hard rainfall in Skye. I'm so happy I found this coat. Interestingly I had never heard of Jack Wolfskin but when I was in Scotland many of the backpacking stores in the Highlands of Scotland sold this brand and said it was one of the best. I'm hoping we get some rain in California so I can continue to use this coat
