5.0 out of 5 stars. Trench Coat

Purchased for an upcoming trip in November. Husband tried it on for size and had it on for only a few minutes when he began to sweat. It's lightweight, but apparently will keep him warm if this is any indication!!

This is an o.k. looking coat, sized a little small and the zipper, although it's a YKK, I've had some hassles getting it to work.
It is really thin and light, will have to wait until it gets a little colder to see how does.

WEATHERPROOF, WARM, AND STYLISH. I knew what I was looking for having had a durable jacket that lasted for 10 years, was weatherproof, and stylish. This jacket fit the bill.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. nice coat - tight fit

Nice fabric, light insulation and good length for commuter coat in weather. Fit is very tight. I'm 42R/35W/6'/188lb and L in this coat is too tight in pits to be comfortable alone, much less over sweater (forget jacket).
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Light yet warm

As I unpacked it, I was concerned that this thin, light coat would not be enough for raw winter we continue to enjoy. To my pleasant surprise, it is one of the warmest coats I've worn.

I bought an XL, my usual size, and found the coat fit fine, but it is a little tighter than other XL's.

The hood, a light cover, has an easy-to-manage design and seems to stay out of the way when it's not needed. The zipper needs some wax and the snug fit has me worried that it will be the first thing to go.

I wish it had more outer pockets, something my last coat had a couple more of. Not critical. The inner "tablet" pocket seems too big for me; stuff goes in and then I'm looking a little weird fishing around trying to find it and get it back out again.

About Merrell

The story of Merrell boots all started with a guy named Randy Merrell, who began handcrafting leather hiking boots back in 1981, shortly after graduating from industrial shoemaking school. By the mid-80s, Randy’s boots had already gained critical acclaim before being named “best boots in the world” by Backpacker Magazine. The next decade saw the arrival of new footwear, including the ever-popular Jungle Moc, which helped launch the after-sport category. Today, Merrell hiking boots, running shoes and sneakers are still among the best on the market, always combining the newest technology, innovative designs and outstanding comfort. Whether you hike, run, walk or just appreciate high-quality shoes and boots, we’re confident that you’ll love Merrell shoes.
