The prime criteria was lots of light that would fit in my pocket easily in a very reliable unit. The P3BM is a bit smaller with not quite as much light, but certainly very adequate. It uses a single AAA battery where the M5 uses a AA battery. At the much lower price for the P3BM, I picked up 2 for gifts or spares. Oh, the warranty with LED Lenser is excellent. After around 3 years of daily use, the switch in an earlier and not quite as powerful model as the M5 I now have failed. They replaced it with an entirely new M5, no questions asked. I shipped them the old light...about $2. postage...was all it took. Very satisfied.

I bought 3 Lenser P2BM flashlight's and liked them so much I ordered 3 Lenser PS3 LED flashlights. The Lenser P2BM has limited quantity and may be sold out. I use the LED flashlights every work day. I swap the flashlight every week to keep them fresh. I like small dependable flash lights that I can strap to my belt and not worrying if my pants are sagging. I may use one or two flashlights while camping. I already have several flashlights I purchased over the years from STP.
