4.0 out of 5 stars. danner desert tfxVerified Buyer Reviewed by fish from Boise, Idaho on Wednesday, April 15, 2015liking the boot so far. hoping that they only need a little break in on the ankle flex point. the spot that I am speaking is on the front side next to the laces where the joint(for lack of better description) is. this place makes an edge that fold into the leg and produces a sore spot, plus the plastic toe protector digs into the top of my foot when I have a lot of toe flex. was wearing thin socks so I hope that wearing a thicker sock and time will fix these 2 pressure points because it is very comfortable and what I was looking for .

I wear them more than 10 hours a day. Just like wearing a pair of tennis shoes. I have learned that when you find a good pairs of boots you should always get two because they wont be available when you want them, so I ordered a second pair. Excellent price as well.

Great Deal on a Great ProductVerified Buyer Reviewed by FALshot from Las Vegas, NV on Monday, April 6, 2015I just made the purchase and have not been able to put many miles on these boots, so I am unable to comment on their wear or durability. They appear to be very sturdy and well made (Typical for Danner) and the size and fit are as listed. The leather is thick and the insoles are comfortable. Over a couple of days wear, they required only minimal break-in and have been comfortable from the start (I wore very thin liner socks and medium thick merino wool socks). The laces are not 550 cord but are top-notch. They seem to be a little warm for a summer boot, but have been comfortable and not too hot in the high 70's when they were worn. One thing that has impressed me is the heel being cupped well and held in place by the boot. It seems to fit over the heel without pinching the achille's tendon. So far, I am very happy with this purchase and can recommend this boot to anyone who is looking for a heavy duty, light-medium weight boot for hiking with medium to heavier weight backpacks on uneven terrain. As always, STP service, shipping time, and product offerings and information was outstanding.
