They have a nice stretch to them as well. I purchased these prior to a camping trip with the intention of wearing them for a good test run. The weather didn't cooperate as we had a drop in temperature, and gusting winds. But, I'm happy with the new addition to my active wear.

My shorts had a million loose threads, and extremely sloppy topstitching everywhere. Since I paid about $5 for them and will use them for hiking I am keeping them anyway.

I bought them in one size larger than I usually wear just because they looked like they were shorter than I was looking for--don't ask why--it just seemed like they would fall a little longer or something. Anyway I am crazy about them! Where one other reviewer said they preferred baggier shorts--this is the answer. They aren't too baggy at one size up, but just loose enough and that slight bit of length longer to feel less like I have to wear them at home all the time. I found a nice top that matches perfectly and, honestly, I couldn't get myself out of that outfit for days. It would go in the wash and back on me. These shorts are so comfortable and they look so great. They also dry so quickly, I wish I'd had them for my last trip. The only weird thing is the button hole on the waistband is sewn in up and down instead of horizontally, which I can't say I've ever seen before, but you just have to make sure you fully secure the button each time. I only had one time when it slipped out unnoticed, but my zipper was up--otherwise, I didn't have a belt on at that time so I'm sure I would have noticed when they fell down (-: (Clearly, one could replace the existing button with one that is just a little bit bigger so it still goes through the button hole, but is not as likely to come through without help--or always wear a belt.)
