The leather is glossy which the picture is accurate and the leather a bit hard like a clog but the toe of he shoe curls upwards. When trying on the shoes my toes hit the top and were rubbing aganist the leather. As a flight attendant with the ups and downs I could tell these wouldn't work and would create blisters on top of my toes especially since the leather was stiff. Also because of the bend in the shoes they were already creased when I received them most likely from someone trying them before me and a small defect in the elastic which if I did like them I would have asked for an exchange.

As a teacher, I bought a pair in black (paid full price at the local shop) and loved them so much I bought a pair in brown. I have foot issues and am short, (5' 2") and can't wear a heel of sorts without difficulty. These work! Can be dressy or casual, and aren't slippery on the bottom, so there is no worry on a tile floor. You can't. Beat the price, and it's a great shoe that steps away from more traditional Dansko styling. Love them!
