These boots fill the bill. They look very much like the short Uggs boot with two buttons, but the sole is Vibram with treads so the boots should work find on icy streets or sidewalks. Uggs may look great and feel great but you take your life in your hands in icy conditions. The boots fit perfectly, have soft, plushy lining, and are quite light, given the serious sole. I'd recommend them for winters ice and snow are standard performers.

This is the first pair of Lowa boots that I've ordered that hasn't fit perfectly. I ordered down 1/2 US size to 8.5 (which is still the correct Euro 40), but my heel slipped. Minus one star for heel slippage. Mine were returned.

They have made me feel very secure walking on icy snow. The materials are of a very high quality, they are well constructed and the style is becoming. I was so pleased I bought two pairs.One a little larger to accommodate heavy socks. They do run large. I wipe them after wearing and they clean up well.

The color is somewhat lighter than they appear on-line.
To early to comment of water resistance or durability but time (and weather) will tell all.
