Had no problem with telescoping handle as others had said. BUT - read all the text in the specs., though it says it is a carry-on the suitcase is 16 inches wide, which unfortunately is too wide for American Airlines. And every recent flight they have had the bin at the gate to measure carry-ons. If we can not carry it on the plane it defeats the purpose. Also - as an FYI, the 20 inches is the size of the bag without wheels, add wheel height and it is 22 inches tall.

MehVerified Buyer Reviewed by SierraGirl from New Mexico on Friday, May 29, 2015This suitcase has many great features -- carryon size, light weight, roomy inside, suit rack(!), light color interior so you can see all your stuff, and expando zipper for when you just have too much stuff, outer zip pockets, and 4 wheels for easy rolling. However this suitcase has one fatal flaw -- the handle collapses unexpectedly while you are rolling along. It did it several times the 1st time I used it. I really liked the bag otherwise, so talked to the manufacturer about it -- they said the part was backordered, I could call back in 4-6 weeks to see if they had any of them available, and it would cost $30 to repair. No dice on that -- Sierra Trading Post was wonderful -- exchanged for another bag with no shipping charges. Sadly, that bag had a handle that collapsed even more frequently. So, I'm returning the 2nd bag, too and will not try again. Too bad, because I loved everything except that darn handle.

The wheels are removable on the Walkabout Lite 4 Rollaboards ( with two wheeled in line skate wheels). Since this was one of the described features that influenced my selection of this bag I rated it a 4 not a 5. Other than that I am happy with the purchase. I have other Travelpro bags and am happy with their features and quality.
