4.0 out of 5 stars. really solid gloves, run smallVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Colorado on Wednesday, January 13, 2016I normally buy large gloves but these were almost too small get on. I bought these for camping - chopping wood, tending the fire, collecting wood, etc. They certainly have a fantastic grip. I'll still be able to use them, but you might consider going up a size.

5.0 out of 5 stars. As advertisedVerified Buyer Reviewed by Jason from Kansas on Monday, January 11, 2016I have owned 1 pair of this type of gloves, though a different brand. These gloves are as advertised. They seem very durable. For the inexpensive price through Sierra Trading Post, I could not pass up ordering 2 additional pairs of these.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Typical Carhartt - Excellent!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Kairos from Pennsylvania on Wednesday, January 6, 2016I'm a Carhartt fan and have purchased other gloves from them before. These are just as strong and comfortable as the Carhartt name promises. I ordered a XL and they feel a little bit tight but I'm sure after using them they will conform to my hands better.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Previous reviews not accurateVerified Buyer Reviewed by Mikhail from Boston on Tuesday, January 5, 2016Everyone is writing this glove comes in small which made me buy a size up. In reality this runs true to size, maybe slightly small if you have chubby fingers as the finger openings are tight but the palm opening is wide. Overall, I wouldn't purchase again because the reviews aren't correct.
That being said, if you're hammering at things all day these seem like they would absorb a lot of impact.
