I bought the small and could've probably gone w/the XS if they'd been available. I wore them under jeans on a motorcycle ride when it was a little chilly...just right to layer. Then wore just these around the house after to lounge in. Warm and comfy...but they're not heavy-duty warmth, they're a nice a light-weight...would be nice to sleep in too.
