Maybe the smaller sizes run large is the only thing I can think of why some reviewers say it runs large. I usually wear a L or XL and the L is not loose enough for my liking. I read review(s) that it ran large so instead of ordering an xl, I ordered a large. It is somewhat tight in the armpits and I regret not getting the xl. It is such a nice coat for the price. I will just have to wear it with a thin top.
