My husband wears it over a down vest and says that it is great for keeping him dry on his wait and commute to work. At first he was hesitant, "This is so long!" and then after a few days I heard, "This coat is really great! It covers my bum when I have my back pack!". It is flexible and light. The hood is long over the top of the head but cut out around eye area for good peripheral vision. The contrast green zippers on the blue coat help with visibility.
