Alico Made in Italy Belluno Hiking Boots - Leather (For Men)

I bought black-color pair last year. The outer surface of my leather is so rough I can't believe they sold it that way.....isn't the leather of boots supposed to be smooth??? I should post a pic as you won't believe the roughness of the leather, it's like they accidentally put the smooth side in and the rough side out. And the black leather is very thin. The soles weren't Vibram, and the inside lining is synthetic and not leather as stated. The fit is wierd as the laces tighten at the next to last set of lace hooks, not at the top, making the top of the boot loose no matter how tight the laces are. I like the boots, just LIKE them. Soles are rather soft, and I anticipate them wearing out long before anything above does.

I am very happy with my purchase of these boots. The fit is perfect (9 1/2) and they are very comfortable for walking in, not stiff at all. I also like the look of these boots. I wanted a hiking boot that was warm with a nice appearance. These fit the bill. The overall quality is excellent. Very satisfied with my purchase.

I've just started to break these in by wearing them while running errands and taking neighborhood walks. They feel great so far with heavy merino wool socks--quite flexible out of the box. Ultimately, I'm going to wear them for long day-hikes on rugged terrain. Two notes: (1) As other reviewers have noted, the lug sole is Davos, not Vibram. (2) I replaced the insoles, which seem decent enough, with higher-quality ones.

I really like these. I got the black with tan laces. They're really well made, obvious quality. And Italian like myself ;-). Good stuff, well worth the price, especially with a discount. After about a week wearing them they're starting to break in, getting more comfortable. They're pretty true to size, I wear an 8.5 in larger boots like Chippewa, and a 9 in regular sized boots. These are more regular sized. The 9s fit me well with just a little room. I use Arch support insoles and with those in they fit perfectly with medium weight boot socks. I used a little sno-seal on the sole stitching as that was recommended by someone, but left the leather alone as it's already treated and I don't want to take away the breathability. The laces come undone a little easier than I like, but they seem to be good quality. After a little wear they may hold better as the coefficient of static friction will rise as the surface roughness does (given certain assumptions, best guess). Just get them, you won't be disappointed.
