5.0 out of 5 stars. Finally after 5 years, I have found the pants I have been looking for..Verified Buyer Reviewed by C Gerard Smith from San Francisco, CA on Tuesday, October 27, 2015My first pair of similar pants was a pair of Outdoor Research Ferrosi Pants (long). I liked most of the features about them, except for the front pocket depth which I thought was too shallow. OR stopped making that pant in a longer length, 34-35” inseam. I did not think a 34” inseam would be a difficult size to have standard, but apparently I am wrong.
I started looking elsewhere for something similar or better. I found it from Prana with their Zion Stretch Pant. The Zion Stretch Pant did not have the zip rear pockets, which is a feature I like a lot, the front pockets were a little too shallow, but they did have the longer length, which made them a buy for me.
I have tried on every brand of outdoor pants in REI, with not much luck.
Now I have found these pants from Haglofs and it is the most perfect pant I have found of this hiking/outdoor variety. The non-hemmed way it is sold solved the biggest problem, which was length. The front pockets are nice and deep. There are three zippered pockets, one on each leg and one on the right rear. No pocket on the left rear. The right hand side pocket has a mobile phone sleeve inside. The pants fit my waist (34”) just right. They are not cargo style for someone like me with big butt and big thighs. For a guy with slender hips and thighs, they probably would fit like cargo pants.
I took them on a two week trip and they did not wrinkle too much. For my job in Silicon Valley, they are appropriate for the office as well as on the trail. I bought two pair which I liked so much after 4 weeks, that I bought two more.
