5.0 out of 5 stars. Really tough, great qualityVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from New York on Thursday, January 21, 2016I got these for my husband to wear for winter hikes on weekends as an alternative to Merrells. These do seem of better quality and we're happy with this purchase so far. Since Merrells started being made in China, quality fell drastically. He says these are absolutely comfortable (no abrasion from first wear!), keep his feet dry and warm and are of really tough construction. They offer great friction on rocky trails, but he changes them into city boots once we return to the city center because he says they are too stiff to walk around town. Perhaps they will get more malleable once they get more beaten up. I got these half size up and it's been great to wear with thicker socks, but it seems they are true to size and the correct size would also have worked with no so thick socks.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Very good boot, especially for the price.Reviewed by Hubby11 from Virginia on Saturday, November 7, 2015Had a 25% coupon and took a chance on these, never heard of the brand. I needed a warm, waterproof boot for hunting and moderate hiking. Although listed as a "winter boot," these are almost exactly what I was looking for.
The boots do not need much breaking in, right from the box they felt pretty good. I have skinny shins but a pretty big foot (12) and I was able to tighten the top laces well enough to get decent support. I did a couple of hikes with a 50# pack and some serious elevation changes, and they held up pretty good. A little heal slippage on one foot that needed some moleskin before it got too bad, but that might even go away as they break in more.
I'm a size 12 and they were pretty roomy, a good thing IMO, since I like a thick sock. Waterproofing seemed to hold up, I walked all day in wet grass and through a few streams that were almost too deep to chance water getting in over the top. Kept dry.
Construction/build quality seem very good. Metal eyelets, solid materials throughout. Only minor concern is the soles. The Vibram soles gripped well but seem a little soft. Not sure how they will hold up long term. But for the price I cannot complain. Highly recommended.
