Maybe good over lots of layers, but I was looking for something with a slimmer fit. Nice touch to be able to zip out the more casual looking plastic puffy jacket collar. The rest of the plastic puffy jacket liner was permanently installed, which makes the coat very warm, but feels kind of cheap as the plastic rustles when you maneuver in it. I didn't expect such a plastic feel with a wool coat.
